My wife and I stayed at the Red Tin Roof Riebeek Kastile on our visit to the Cape. We were blown away by the hospitality shown by owners Sam and Jacques who personalised our visit. The food was five star and very different and their menus unique and original. If you like South African food, make the effort to visit... More

What a sweet experience, to visit Riebeek Kasteel from Germany. Sam and George are running their lovely Red Tin Roof in such a nice way - the best kept secret in the valley!!!!! Food and Service were just outstanding, like coming home!!!! kind regards from Frankfurt / Germany Richard

The Red Tin Roof brims with character. The new owners - two former investigative journalists, Jacques Pauw and Sam Rogers - have poured their heart, soul and savings into it. It is a unique gastropub and guest house, unlike anything else you'll find in the town. The walls - covered with an eclectic collection of newspaper cuttings and propaganda posters... More

I visited Red Tin Roof in December last year. The establishment had just reopened with new owners, so I was not sure how great the service would be. I was pleasantly surprised. My daughters were warmly welcomed, and both of them spent a wonderful day swimming in the Red Tin Roofs swimming pool. My husband ordered some well priced and... More

After reading about the Red Tin Roof in the latest edition of the Finweek we were quite looking forward to the visit. Unfortunately what was supposed to be a fun day trip turned into a disappointing trip to an establishment whose owners unfortunately have zero people skills and who are ill prepared to run this type of establishment. I called... More

We are indeed new in this business and putting our hearts and souls into this venture. We made a mistake and we apologize. It is indeed true that when the reviewer arrived, the snoek cakes were no longer available and had not yet been taken off the menu. This should not have happened. When the family arrived a waitress greeted... More

Very seldom have we found such five star service and excellent food and we had a wonderful experience from the start (actually right from the beginning with the friendly e-mail booking and further contact with Clare!) From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome and that nothing was too much trouble for the management team -... More

What a wonderful experience from start to finish - friendly, efficient service right from the time I inquired about accommodation to the moment we left. The room we stayed it was lovely - tastefully and clearly freshly decorated with clean crisp white linen plus air-conditioning. The bathroom - boasting one of the largest showers I've ever experienced - was modern... More

We had a warm welcome from new management team, Paul, Linda, Claire and Allen. The room is very nicely decorated, good beds and linen, air-conditioning, lovely bath salts, soaps and cream from local manufacturer. Good variety of tea and most surprisingly a plunger with regte "moerkoffie" for self service. They serve an excellent breakfast with made to perfection " sunny... More

This must be the worst 4 star guest house I have ever stayed in. What you see on the web site and glean from speaking to the owners is definitely not what you get. Besides Tracey who we had to phone to come and unlock the place for us nothing was welcoming, inviting, or friendly. The gardens, pool area and... More

Having read the last two reviews (which I would like to point out are from the same group that travelled together as a group of 6) I feel compelled to write to comment on such a vile review from such a nasty woman. I would like to address some of the points – but the main one being to date... More
