Granted, once you travel deep into the southern parts of Ethiopia you expect to give up certain creature comforts, but this "resort" was a huge disappointment. The rooms might be spacious but they did not feel clean or well maintained. Part of the problem was undoubtedly the terrible plumbing. Our toilet leaked continuously so the floor was perpetually flooded. We... More

Choices are limited in southern Ethiopia. You usually have to travel through Jinka going towards Kenya and the Omo. Eco-Omo, also a hotel in Jinka, has the reputation for being "better" but it too is basic. Rooms at the Jinka Resort are basic, clean and quiet. Bathrooms are clean, water is hot when generator is on. Electricity is out after... More

Loved the Jinka resort. It was a lovely stop over on the way back to Arba Minch from Buska lodge. The food was good and I had a nice room. I don't think there are mosquito's here. I never noticed any. The place is situated under the trees and there are lots of flowers everywhere. It is a gated resort... More

Nice shady grounds. Basic rooms with limited electricity and hot water. Food service at hotel acceptable. There seemed to be one very pleasant waiter scurrying around both at dinner and breakfast and given that, service was quite good….

This is not a luxury resort. But given its location, it is actually quite acceptable, and is a good value. My room was clean, but someone else in our group had a room with lots of dead bugs...like they had sprayed the room and then forgot to sweep it out afterwards. But at least they were all dead! The rooms... More

The Jinka Resort has been spruced up since my last visit, rooms redecorated, common areas improved, but it's still located in quiet, cool, shady grounds which are very pleasant indeed. I was given a nice large room (room 1), spacious and well maintained with unlimited hot water and my own terrace under the trees. There was a mosquito net but... More

We cannot share the complaints of many tourists. Sure - the whole place is rather basic, but the nice garden and the very friendly staff made up for the big, but modest rooms. Again the food was nothing special….poor breakfast, but acceptable dinner. Only alternative the expensive Eco-Lodge (tent like and open ends ideal for mosquitos to visit during the... More

Spartan rooms but at least there’s a mosquito net over the bed. Tatty bathrooms. No water for several hours but eventually it returned – and we got some hot, enough for one shower. Restaurant menu very basic and standard of food distinctly average. Service slow mainly due to lack of staff (there were about 30 guests resident when we stayed),... More

Been there on November 2013 for 2 nights. . As we entered the room we smelled the mold. The bath room is full with mold (room 13), The floor is full with sand or dry mud. It's the worst place in South Ethiopia among those I have seen. It has a lovely garden and a nice place to have your... More
