I absolutely loved this place. Of course the room was simple, the furniture was old but the bed was very comfortable. And I had problems with the pipes that couldn't be solved but I managed to shower (albeit only with cold water). No wifi, either (but I saw an internet cafe a few meters away if you need it). What... We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, the staff were really friendly and helpful and we had a pleasant stay. We had to change rooms as there is currently road construction work going on right outside the hotel (so will probably be finished now!), and were given larger (35br more expensive) rooms out the back, these were much nicer,... Hotel is set in tall trees with nicely cared for gardens. Our room was a good size with a nice bathroom. Sadly the window didn't have a screen. Bug bites. Room had electricity. Hot water. Heavy blanket we used in the early morning hours. Clean. Restaurant with simple food. Beer selection. Cold soft drinks. Bridge was under construction so there... More

The average rating is in the context of “Not Much Choice.” and in a place where our expected amenities in lodging are really ridiculous. The basics are essential. The Resort met my basics: a place to sleep, a mosquito net (not needed), and a solid breakfast on a very pleasant large veranda-the site of a warm soda and relaxation late... More

There's no real reason to give any review of the Jinka Resort due to the fact that there is simply no where else to stay within 100 miles unless you wish to spend the night in your 4X4 Land Rover. We stay in room number 3 which is directly behind the kitchen that has evening activity until around 11ish. The... More

The rooms were very basic. The sink leaked over the floor and the shower was not the best. lots of mosquitos . The choices of drinks and food available were limited as they had run out . They should not call this a resort. It is however the only place to stay in this town. The staff were very friendly... More

There aren't a whole like of choices in Jinka and this is probably the best option for foreign travelers. That said, calling it a "resort" is a hyperbole taken to the extreme. The rooms are dark and not particularly well-appointed but the shower!!! Plenty of hot water, great water pressure. A real treat after a long day on the dusty... More

Well... The room was smelly, dirty and very basic. The toilet was broken, so I had to flush it with a bucket of water. Many mosquitos and the net over the bed old, fixed with different kind of stickers. On arrival the door of the room was wide opened. That's why I found a big frog under my bed :(... More

Granted, once you travel deep into the southern parts of Ethiopia you expect to give up certain creature comforts, but this "resort" was a huge disappointment. The rooms might be spacious but they did not feel clean or well maintained. Part of the problem was undoubtedly the terrible plumbing. Our toilet leaked continuously so the floor was perpetually flooded. We... More

Choices are limited in southern Ethiopia. You usually have to travel through Jinka going towards Kenya and the Omo. Eco-Omo, also a hotel in Jinka, has the reputation for being "better" but it too is basic. Rooms at the Jinka Resort are basic, clean and quiet. Bathrooms are clean, water is hot when generator is on. Electricity is out after... More
