The rooms were very basic. The sink leaked over the floor and the shower was not the best. lots of mosquitos . The choices of drinks and food available were limited as they had run out . They should not call this a resort. It is however the only place to stay in this town. The staff were very friendly... More

There aren't a whole like of choices in Jinka and this is probably the best option for foreign travelers. That said, calling it a "resort" is a hyperbole taken to the extreme. The rooms are dark and not particularly well-appointed but the shower!!! Plenty of hot water, great water pressure. A real treat after a long day on the dusty... More

Well... The room was smelly, dirty and very basic. The toilet was broken, so I had to flush it with a bucket of water. Many mosquitos and the net over the bed old, fixed with different kind of stickers. On arrival the door of the room was wide opened. That's why I found a big frog under my bed :(... More

Granted, once you travel deep into the southern parts of Ethiopia you expect to give up certain creature comforts, but this "resort" was a huge disappointment. The rooms might be spacious but they did not feel clean or well maintained. Part of the problem was undoubtedly the terrible plumbing. Our toilet leaked continuously so the floor was perpetually flooded. We... More

Choices are limited in southern Ethiopia. You usually have to travel through Jinka going towards Kenya and the Omo. Eco-Omo, also a hotel in Jinka, has the reputation for being "better" but it too is basic. Rooms at the Jinka Resort are basic, clean and quiet. Bathrooms are clean, water is hot when generator is on. Electricity is out after... More

Loved the Jinka resort. It was a lovely stop over on the way back to Arba Minch from Buska lodge. The food was good and I had a nice room. I don't think there are mosquito's here. I never noticed any. The place is situated under the trees and there are lots of flowers everywhere. It is a gated resort... More

Nice shady grounds. Basic rooms with limited electricity and hot water. Food service at hotel acceptable. There seemed to be one very pleasant waiter scurrying around both at dinner and breakfast and given that, service was quite good….

This is not a luxury resort. But given its location, it is actually quite acceptable, and is a good value. My room was clean, but someone else in our group had a room with lots of dead bugs...like they had sprayed the room and then forgot to sweep it out afterwards. But at least they were all dead! The rooms... More

The Jinka Resort has been spruced up since my last visit, rooms redecorated, common areas improved, but it's still located in quiet, cool, shady grounds which are very pleasant indeed. I was given a nice large room (room 1), spacious and well maintained with unlimited hot water and my own terrace under the trees. There was a mosquito net but... More

We cannot share the complaints of many tourists. Sure - the whole place is rather basic, but the nice garden and the very friendly staff made up for the big, but modest rooms. Again the food was nothing special….poor breakfast, but acceptable dinner. Only alternative the expensive Eco-Lodge (tent like and open ends ideal for mosquitos to visit during the... More
