Le Louvre has character, charm and friendly owners. It is tucked away in the centre of the attractive town of Sault, with a real feel of an understated and timeless Provençal way of doing things. There is a hint of eccentricity which added to its appeal for us, and if you like slick and modern it might not be for... More

This is a very typical local hotel with friendly staff. Don't expect luxury but this old building has a charm of its own. The owners are very bike friendly and it's a convenient base for Mt Ventoux. The restaurant is good and you can eat outside in the square in good weather.

My experience of this little village hotel was excellent the owner and his staff couldn't have been more helpful, meals including breakfast were delicious, no tinned fruit or jams, fresh baked croissants great coffee and lots more to select from for breakfast. We were even supplied with ear plugs in case the church clock disturbed our sleep( used mine 1st... More

We arrived by bicycle and were warmly greeted by the owner with glasses of beer on the house, and our experience of this hotel continued to impress until we left the following morning. The room, including shower and separate toilet, was spacious, comfortable and quiet. Our dinner in the hotel restaurant was wonderful, as was breakfast the following morning. It... More

I stayed at the Hotel Le Louvre in Sault, 10 and 11 September 2012. The room was small but very clean and comfortable. I ate at the hotel restaurant the first night and had a great four course meal for a very reasonable amount. Breakfast, which was an extra 9 Euros was a bit disappointing but the coffee and fresh... If this is a 2 star hotel I'll " manger mon chapeau". In many years of staying in hotels in Europe and the UK this is easily the worst hotel we have stayed in. As the attached photographs show the room was tiny, ill equipped, shabby and in need of a complete refurbishment. The most alarming was the bathroom which... More

We stayed here as part of a month long bike tour round Europe and turned up hot, shattered and needing a long cool drink and nice shower. Le Louvre was perfect. The hotel is located on a lovely shady square in the centre of the tiny, pretty town. The staff were totally lovely - made us very welcome, agonised over... More
