Staying at a local campsite, we walked for about 15 minutes into West Tanfield and chose the Bull based on the menu and prices. We were not disappointed. Bench seating at the front gave us a view of the village church and caught the evening sun, perfect for a refreshing drink. We then chose to move to the rear terraced... More

We stayed 1 night at the Bull a week or so after the Tour de France had been through (lots of yellow all through the village). Our room was spacious ands clean with a nice bathroom. We enjoyed our evening meal and loved having a relaxing ale in the garden overlooking the river. Breakfast was excellent. Gill and the rest... More

A little gem!! Stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The pub serves a first class pint along with 'restaurant type' food at 'pub type' prices. Breakfast was excellent and we hope to return sometime very soon. The icing on the cakes for us was the location and the fact that within just a few minutes ride, we found... More

Came across this delightful pub on our travels back in April when we called in for a quick drink. We decided to book it for a two night stay and we were not disappointed. Jill and her staff are so helpful with advice on places to visit and routes to take. Having just had the Tour de France pass by... More

We stopped off at this pub on our way back one evening for a cheeky cider and noticed they did a pizza menu. It was a friendly pub ( as visitors, sometimes local pubs can appear hostile ). This didn't it was very friendly and if you have dogs it's doggy friendly too. We went back to try the pizzas... More

We'd never been to the picturesque village of West Tanfield, near Ripon, before but were going to see Theatre of the Dales performing "The Merry Wives of Windsor" in the garden of The Bull Inn. It's an old and characterful pub with a beautiful beer garden leading down to the River Ure. We had Sunday lunch - excellent roast beef... More

We stayed two nights at The Bull Inn this weekend whilst visiting the area for a festival and can't recommend it highly enough. The pub itself is full of character and characters! Our tree themed room was fantastic, very comfy king size bed which can also be made into twin beds, the staff rang us that morning to check which... More

We stayed at the Bull Inn for one night for a family get together. Gill and Phil have created a pub with great food and a welcoming atmosphere. The rooms upstairs were warm and cosy. The bed was very comfortable - a great night's sleep after a wonderful dinner!
