A last minute booking for Thursday 23rd January. Had a long drive to get to Thornhill so could not have been more happy and surprised to find the B & Q Arms we had room 8 which was large a comfortable and spotlessly clean room. Open fires in the dinning rooms and bar area makes you feel very much at... More

We went for dinner and were absolutely delighted with the quality of all the food. The lounge bar and dining room are very comfortable and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Back to the meal we all felt it was one of the best meals we've had. I can recommend the beef bourgignon delicious and tender. The prawns and... More

My Partner and i went for 2 night Hogmanay break including Dinner and was very pleased with all aspects of the stay but most of all the resident chef, the meals were of the highest standards of any hotel i have stayed in (including the Balmoral). Cannot recommend this hotel enough. All the staff and General Manager, Alisdair, were very... More

In the lounge bar we were greeted with a lovely log fire and friendly helpful staff. The bedroom was large and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was splendid with luxury toiletries. Mt colleague and I were booked into this hotel for only two nights for a work based stay, we were made that welcome and the rooms, food and drinks were that good we decided to cancel out next hotel and stay here for the rest of the week despite having to travel more miles than we needed. The rooms are... More

The Buccleuch is a newly renovated Inn. The rooms are large and furnished to a very high standard with great bathrooms. All the rooms are unique. The bar and restaurant are of high quality with good service. Only down points are that the menu is quite small which is no problem for a night or two, but could be if... More

Stayed here with my partner in April for a quiet night away. We got a great deal including dinner, bed and breakfast. The hotel refurbishment is simply beautiful and the food at the restaurant was first class. I was worried because there was only one vegetarian option on the menu, but it was delicious! Our room was stunning, could have... More

We had a wonderful stay here. Ali and the staff are fantastic, as is the bar entertainment! The beds were dreamy and the food was SO delicious I wanted to eat it all again even though I was full. We love how it’s been restored, it’s very elegant and traditional but also welcoming and cosy.
