If we could turn back the clock, we would do it all over again. The service was incredible; the facility was elegant, yet inviting, the owners were charming and attentive. Staying here was the best part of our two week trip to Scotland. The Kansas City Bike Group by Theresa Barton

We have just returned from Holmhill after spending 2 nights there. We can honestly say this is the best Bed and Breakfast we have ever stayed in. We were greeted by Rosie and her husband Stewart who welcomed us warmly and offered us tea and the incredible melt in the mouth home made shortbread biscuits. We were then shown our... More

We stayed for 1 night in March 2014 when the owners were away, and again over Easter. This is a really impressive place to stay. The house is a real period house, but with modern fittings including lovely showers and baths. The house is situated in extensive gardens with great views over the hills about 5 minutes by car from... More

This was our second stay, this time over the Easter weekend with our toddler and small baby. Everything about Holmhill made for a wonderfully relaxed break. We were welcomed with tea and homemade cake and quickly settled into our room upstairs, which had ample space for a travel cot and moses basket for the girls. Rosie and Stewart go above... More

This was our third visit to this beautiful guest house in Thornhill. We are never disappointed; the accommodation and hospitality are second to none. From the moment you arrive to the point of departure Rosie and Stewart make you feel that you are their main priority. The house is elegantly furnished but has a relaxed ambience and the bedrooms and... More

This is one of the best accomodations I have stayed in. Not only beautifully decorated but a wonderful warm welcome and a very homely feel. The rooms and beds are as good or better than most boutique hotels and the breakfast was fabulous.Worth every penny.

After a 33 hour trip from Australia, we arrived to the warm welcome of Rosie and Stewart. The house is absolutely gorgeous and you do not feel like you are "staying in someone else's house" which can sometimes be the case when staying at a B&B. The room we stayed in was huge, as was the bathroom, and so comfortable,... More

I'm really not one for B&B's as I feel uncomfortable at the thought of straying in someone's home, I'd really rather be in a hotel. However my parents-in-law booked this and therefore we didn't get a say. As B&B's go, it was very nice. We were travelling with our 3 month old daughter and the house was very cold when... More

I stayed for the second time and was impressed again. The bedroom is large, the bed fresh, clean and comfortable, the bathroom included towelling robes, a walk in shower and roll top slipper bath. The owners work so hard and their standards are the highest you will find. They are so flexible and accommodating. It is also great value for... More

A group of 5 of us had a 2 night stay when we were in the area for the Buccleuch Challenge. Fantastic rooms, comfortable beds, plenty of hot water, delicious breakfasts and friendly and helpful hosts. We couldn't have asked for better accommodation for our visit. The package of shortbread for the journey was an added bonus. Thank you Rosie... More
