We spent two nights at Finca celebrating my husband's birthday. We stayed at the Rosa Blanca suite, which offers the most spectacular views and beautifully decorated rooms. The tours we did with Manolo in San Jose and around the coffee plantation were most memorable and very informative. Andreas made wonderful fresh fruit drinks for us every day. Finca Rosa Blanca... Dear Katepg Thanks for writing about us, we appreciate taking the time to do so. I really liked your comment about Finca Rosa Blanca does not feel like a hotel experience at all. but rather one feels like they are a special guest in a beautifully decorated home, full of original art, unique architecture and spectacular views. After flying from Los Angeles to Costa Rica, my wife and I wanted to rest for a couple of days before we headed to other parts of the country. Finca Rosa Blanca was a great place to unwind and get used to Costa Rica. And it was a wonderful place to stay. We stayed in two different rooms: La Piedra... More

Dear WesCovington; Thanks for the nice review and I think you are right about staying more than one night. We actually have many guests, especially return guests that sometimes stay for a week or more, as we are a central hub for all the Central Highlands and only an hour from the Cara Bird reserve and rain forest. Having said... More

After staying at two resorts in Guanacaste and Arenal, this was by far our favorite part of the trip. We were amazed at the unique architecture, very friendly staff (from the front desk to maids to waiters/bartenders), and overall peacefulness of this place. It was like a breath of fresh air. We also had an extremely likeable staff member take... More

Thank you so much for your appreciation for our small inn and coffee plantation. We think our chef is truly magnificent, but we are not objective, so I want to thank you for your kind words regarding your culinary experience here. Can't wait to see yo next year (with a warmer pool)! Saludos desde Costa Rica More

We started and ended our trip to Costa Rica at Finca Rosa Blanca. What struck me most about this hotel was how clean and beautiful it is. We stayed in La Ventana, which was a nice choice since we were traveling with our 4 year old and almost 2 year old. They could have their own room in La Ventana.... More

Thanks so much for your nice comments. We are very proud of our eye for detail and cleanliness is very important, as this is a hotel in the middle of coffee fields and gardens and obviously requires a nice ecological balance. I am sorry the pool was cold; December was an extremely cold month with variable weather and our huge... More

Staying at Finca Rosa Blanca really made me and my fiance appreciate people who are environmentally responsible. It's nice to know that the money we're spending is used to maintain the organic farm (which the coffee tour *thank you Leo!!* showed takes A LOT of time and effort), pay wages for the locals they hire, and provide computers and libraries... Dear Amy NY1; Thank you so much for your kind words and in particular for your appreciation of our work in sustainability, which we are so passionate about. I think what we have learned in our 20 years as a small boutique hotel, is that you don't have to sacrifice luxury or quality when being sustainable. And I am glad... More

We stayed here for three days at the tail end of our month long trip to Costa Rica. The accommodations were very nice as well as the grounds. Leo is the true gem of this place. He led the coffee tour and he was very professional and obviously passionate about the farm. As well we went on a horseback tour... More

I arrived to San Jose with a terrible cold, feeling tired and grumpy. My mood changed quickly when I saw the grounds, met the staff and moved into the Rosa Blanca suite. This place is truly a work of love and devotion. The staff are first class, the service wonderful. The rooms, the restaurant, the decor: all done tastefully, honouring... More

I was here on the 19th and 20th of November. Although the rooms are interesting and I enjoyed the views from Valle and Caffetal (the latter room is better), there were many annoying "misses." For example, the jacuzzi tub in Valle does not work, and in Caffetal, the ceiling fan wobbles noisily so you cannot use it at night, and... More

I am writing to say how unfortunate it was that we did not meet your expectations. We are a small but extremely personalized hotel that has been on the forefront of sustainability, service and above all quality for the last 20 years. We have always catered to and are very sensitive to all unaccompanied travelers, particularly women (ie; unaccompanied women's... More

My wife and I just returned from our "Green Season" honeymoon in Costa Rica, where Finca Rosa Blanca was our first destination. Before booking Finca Rosa Blanca for three nights, I poured through reviews and pictures on Trip Advisor, searching for others who had traveled during this notoriously rainy season. Not surprisingly, few existed. So let me be one of... More

I've waited months to write this review because I wanted to see if anywhere else I stayed at this year was better. No-where else compared with the situation, atmosphere and architecture of Finca Rosa Blanca. The room was amazing, and the tour of the coffee plantation fascinating. Swimming in the pool was bliss. It's worth a return visit to Costa... More
