We were brought here by our tour operator as our first stop in Costa Rica. And what a first introductry stop to this wonderful country. The only negative point was that we were there only for one night. The positive: we were to come back for our last evening before our flight back home. This establishement is an upscale place... We only had one night at this hotel to stay for our flight out of San Jose but I wish we could have stayed much longer. The rooms were unique and beautiful. We were upgraded to a Master Suite for one of our rooms which was a beautiful two room house with the most amazing terrace! The other room La... More

What a great find (full credit to our travel agent)! Fantastic and unique property with 13 very different rooms & suites on a self-sustaining coff plantation. That should be enough for most but there is more. The facilities & grounds are immaculate. The suites are fabulous. The staff is authentically nice, attentive and well-trained/managed (no problem w/English etc). The on-site... More

In general, this is a nice hotel, beautifully landscaped property. It is a Finca, so definitely not a luxury hotel. For what it offers, however, the prices are probably too high. The rooms are nice, however a bit worn out and stuffy. Once we opened the windows to add some fresh air, it was much better. The restaurant and service... More

Dear German World Traveler; We appreciate your writing in and for your suggestions. We definitely try to open the windows and doors before guests arrive, but recently we have had very severe winds and had to keep them closed so as to limit the leaves and other flying nature from entering. Our aesthetic is one of Costa Rican authentic styles;... More

Finca Rosa Blanca is the perfect place to begin a trip in Costa Rica. After a long flight, the hotel is a short 25 minute ride away Nestled in the foothills of Volcan Barva and Volcan Poas, the area is lush with plant life, particularly of the coffee variety. Upon arrival we were greeted by Pablo at the front desk.... More

We stayed in the El Pino villa at the end of our three week trip in Costa Rica - just the tonic we needed after camping in the Corcovado! The villa was soo lovely - we felt right at home. Quirky in a good way. All the buildings have some interesting art and such character..if anyone would rather spend time... More

It is really too bad I have to write such a negative review of a property that is so lovely. However, I cannot give a good review to a resort that has ants infesting the room- climbing the walls, all over the beds, and everywhere! I was so grossed out I couldn't sleep a wink- If you do choose to... More

Dear Tennisleg; Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us, I am very sorry the ants were problematical for you. Costa Rica is the most biodiverse country in the world and the coexistence of all life here is one of the primary reasons guests come to experience the unexploited natural areas, much like we have here on... Incredible architecture- beautiful murals- make for a rich and traditional Costa Rican experience. Very clean and beautiful rooms. The grounds have beautiful gardens. Great location! If you are looking for something close to the Capitol, but far enough away to enjoy the peace and Beaty of the countryside. This is a great choice. I think the rates are quite high.... More

From the moment we arrived we felt very welcomed. The staff was very personable and helpful. Especially Pablo at the reception desk, and Stephanie our server. The rooms were gorgeous, and the inn was filled with interesting art, antiques and comfy nooks. The grounds are lush and well cared for. The food was very good. The highlight was the coffee... More

Finca Rosa Blanca was the first stop on our Costa Rica trip and pretty much set the standard for the rest of our travels. The staff is incredibly helpful and determined to make your stay perfect. I don't drink coffee ( I know...what was I doing in Costa Rica!) but the wait staff in the restaurant went to great lengths... More
