The setting is a pretty valley. The rooms are very basic and lack privacy. We enjoyed the food. The best part of the stay was lying in bed listening to the sounds of the birds, frogs and river. Getting there is a challenge due to many roads under construction. More

Ok, my Fiancé and I stayed here for the first time and we loved it. It's his first time visiting Puerto Rico and I wanted to give him a bit of us from mountains to beaches and Casa Grande was just the perfect place. The drive didn't bother us like to other people being that I'm from PR and I... More

First stayed here about 20 years ago and it was just as delightful this time as then. It has changed very little, thank goodness. The accommodations are very simple with no TV, radio, or AC, just beds, bath, and a ceiling fan. They are positioned on the hillside with all the wonderful, lush vegetation surrounding them. Probably as close to... More

We picked Casa Grande for a one-night stop en route from San Juan to the Copamarina Resort on the southwest coast. Our guidebook's instructions on how to get there were accurate, but it takes some perserverance -- just when you think you're lost, there is the entrance. It's a very restful and friendly place. My wife especially enjoyed the medium... More

We didn't plan on staying too long but wanted the experience. We showed up after dark and wanted to leave before noon the following morning. The drive to get here was a bit unbearable though :( That's just something you'll have to take in order to get there, there is no easy route in or out. Winding one way roads... More

So glad you enjoyed your stay. Part of the charm and attraction of the retreat is its somewhat remote location. Nearby road 140 was recently repaved near the retreat making the ride a lot easier on travelers and vehicles. We'll look forward to your return for a longer stay. More

Though many people come to Puerto Rico (and with good reason) to enjoy the island's beautiful beaches, to meander through the cobblestone streets of Old San Juan, and to enjoy the great shopping, food, and nightlife, they often forego the option of a relaxing mountain retreat. This is unfortunate because Puerto Rico is, above all, a mountainous island, and some... More

We came thru Ponce, south of that area- I dont recommend this route unless you are very adventurous! anyway after feeling our way around, various roads ending at unmarked intersections, turn offs, etc- we finally arrived after dark very close to 8pm. Exhausted and tired we were met by a very stoic receptionist who did ask if we had eaten-... More

Thank you for writing the review. We benefit from all reviews, both positive and negative. I made a copy of this rone and gave it to the staff involved, suggesting ways to improve our service. The dinner bill lincluded two appetizers, two main courses, two desserts and three alcoholic drinks from the bar. It totaled $64.00 before sales tax and... More

We stayed two nights last week, and we really enjoyed the hotel, mountain views and sounds of the nearby river, birds, roosters and frogs. The pool was refreshing and invigorating after a day of mountain hiking and ziplining. It was extremely clean, and the water seemed to simply be nonclorinated fresh water. Rooms are clean and basic, but you don't... More

This was a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the city, but it is very, very basic. Location is awesome though-tucked out of the way, quiet, with the exception of the coqui frogs! It is an excellent place to relax and do some hiking. Hammock outside and great views of the lush mountains. Can even get to some... More
