We made a booking at Logis de la Barque via booking.com at very short notice when we realised that we weren't going to make our final destination that day because of the appalling weather. Arrived there to find that they did not expect us, and there was no room. No-one actually explained what the problem was. So poor marks because... More

Heading to the South-West of France we decided to pull off the A28 just north of Le Mans and found a fantastic hotel, comfortable rooms with a decent shower, secure off road parking and like so many in France, pet friendly! The village was lovely with nice views of the river and some history! We ate in the hotel restaurant... More

Just stayed one night here but pleasantly surprised by all aspects. Rooms are small but clean, Hotel staff were very helpful and courtious. Restaurant is more a 3 Star affair with good food at reasonable prices and really its the only game in town, if you want to eat! But it was very good. Hotel is closed some days between... More

The worst meal we have ever had in France. We were unable to eat some of it. Don't be enticed by the numbers eating here, as most will be from a coach trip. The food is poor, the cooking lacks skill, flavour, presentation and is offered on a take it or leave it basis. Microwaves are used for everything. Service... More

We stayed at the hotel many years ago and as we were travelling through France we decided to stay again as the food was superb. 'Master Chef' type. When we arrived at 5pm there was a note on the door saying 'back at 5.30. Bit annoyed but owner was there at 5.30. Rooms basic. Two very old chairs and a... More

After spending hours trying to find a hotel in Le Mans (unfortunately we chose the day after the race) We took a chance with this hotel as our last hope of finding accommodation for the night. The receptionist was most helpful in finding us two double rooms for the night. We ate in the restaurant that evening and the food... More

I have been coming to this hotel for many years each June to watch the le mans 24 hour race. The food and wine have always been the strong point - may I suggest the divine starter of warmed foi gras with raspberry jelly!!! Now the breakfasts have been improved to international breakfast standards - formerly they were minimal traditional... More

Booked the hotel through Logis de France website and received confirmation for a half board stay for two people. When we arrived the place was shut although people were working inside. We managed to intercept one of them on the way out who told us the hotel was closed that evening and we couldn't have made a reservation. After being... More

We did not stay in the Hotel, we were camping at the local campsite. However, when we enquired if there was anywhere we could get a meal that evening (Sunday) the lovely lady at the campsite said she would make some enquiries for us. The restaurant was supposed to be closed that evening, but for some bizarre reason, they had... More
