We really enjoyed our stay at La Gaucherie and Aurelia was a lovely host. We arrived after a long drive to a large and beautifully decorated family suite with two large double beds. We highly recommend the evening meal which was better than restaurant standard and cooked with locally sourced ingredients. Breakfast was equally as good! Plenty of space, very... More

We stayed one night at this charming place. We had a very good dinner ( personally i loved the food and the mix of tastes in the same dish. The lady is a good cook). We were the only ones there so after she prepared our dessert, she sat next to us and we chatted for an hour. We enjoyed also... More

This B&B ticks all the boxes - great accommodation, grounds, including a lovely (well maintained and safe) swimming pool. Aurelia is extremely welcoming and flexible with meal arrangements. Seriously recommend booking for dinner, which is restaurant quality but with the convenience of being at home. We have children now (4 & 6) and this is our dream style of accommodation... More

My first time taking the trouble to write a review, and La Gaucherie was really worth it. Beautiful room with fantastic Tempur mattress, and delicious meals both in the evening and at breakfast. Aurelia was also very kind and welcoming, including with the young children in our group. We'll be back!

I don't usually take the trouble to write reviews but La Gaucherie was such a delight, I wanted to share our experience. Travelling from SW France on our way back to the UK we had booked to stay for 1 night at La Gaucherie. We got a little lost when we arrived in the village so after a quick call,... More

We stayed at La Gaucherie as a stopover, both ways on route to the Dordogne. Our hostess was charming and could not have been more welcoming. Our room (prestige) was spacious, tastefully decorated and included a spa bath! The property is in a beautiful, peaceful setting and has a swimming pool. We had a meal both nights and the food... We stayed at La Gaucherie for one night, breaking the long journey back from the South of France to the ferry at Caen. It was nigh on perfect for us (2 adults, 2 boys - 4 years and 20 mths). Beautiful location, tonnes of space for the kids to run around. A gated pool and a friendly atmosphere - we... More

Stop off for us travelling back from the south of France to the Caen ferry port. Ideal, tranquil location with large grounds, nice swimming pool and beautiful lake [take your fishing rod if you have the time/inclination]. Aurelia is a wonderful host and speaks very good English. We had a superb 3 course meal there for €28 excluding wine.

We stayed at La Gaucherie in 24 June. Aurelia and her family were so welcoming. La Gaucherie is beautiful, with lovely rooms. The evening meal was a delight - excellent cooking and presentation. We are just sorry it was only an overnight stop on the way south. Next time we'll stay a bit longer!

Aurelia is such a wonderful host. We were on holiday in the South of France and were looking for somewhere to stay last minute, I had a quick check and emailed in hope, Aurelia emailed back straight way and confirmed our booking. Very helpful texts helped direct us to this idyllic spot. We only stayed for one night, but Aurelia... More
