We loved the view and gardens, it's so peaceful and beautiful! We were in a BnB room and found it comfortable. The food is outstanding! Dinner is terribly over priced but very good food non the less. We didn't find much to do in Hogsback but we enjoyed just relaxing at the Edge. You must make sure you see the view... More

We stayed over in one of the lovely double rooms on our way to Jeffreys Bay. Stunning little village with lovely restaurants and pubs. The restaurant at The Edge Mountain Retreat can do with a bit of renovation though. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will be back in winter for the Christmas in July weekend. Hope for snow. Imagine it... More

We thoroughly enjoyed Hogsback in general, and The Edge added to us enjoying our stay so much. We only stayed 1 night, which was very shortsighted, if I could go back I would have stayed at very minumum 2 nights!!! The Edge is beautiful though, we stayed in Firefly which had a huge king bed, a nice bathroom and wasn't... More

This was our first visit to Hogsback and by using Trip Advisor chose The Edge to spend the night. We were not disappointed! The setting was absolutely stunning, the unit was great and the staff very friendly and helpful. The starlings were nesting in the roof and saw us as intruders. Every time my husband walked out on the patio... More

A lot of houses to choose from and each house has a different style and of course budget. Some houses are spectacular, we had the Stargazer and it was a complete house, from bedroom to bedroom you had to cross the kitchen an living room (about 25 metres of space). A huge fire place is there for you to admire... More

We went to The Edge for a friends wedding recently and The Edge was really great. I must admit it was beyond expectation! We will most definitely return for a weekend away. Beautiful surrounds, lovely gardens, good accommodation and (very happily) hot water! This might seem like a given but in Hogsback it's not always! We had a great time... More

Amazing.... We stayed in over-the-edge and the bungalow was like it came straight out of Lord of The Rings. The decoration of the room was amazing! It's more beautifull than described on their own website! Our bungalow was litterally on the edge of a rock with amazing views of the valley. We were sad that we had to leave! You... More

Pros Food and view from the bedroom Cons Front desk service was poor Not much to do in Hogsback expect hike Gravel road to Hogsback takes a while Advice A nice stopover. Hoggsback is a nice small town, but I imagine some people might get a little bored here espencially when the weather is bad. Try their gourmet pies
