The cottages aren't spectacular but more than comfortable. The best part was in the indoor fire place. It really sets the romantic mood. It's a great spot for couples who want to get away for the weekend. We didn't eat at the lodge but the kitchenette in the cottages have everything you need. We strongly recommended a visit. There is... More

Kings Lodge has all the amenities of a hotel with the setting of a relaxing environment. For business or pleasure, this Lodge gives you the access to all the amenities you need. We were lucky to be staying there when it started to snow, and woke up to a white world, untainted by all the thrill seekers who apparently streamed... More

I am staying in a comfy, quaint cottage under a huge plane tree. It is aptly called "Shady Cottage". In the evenings it is a pleasure to sit outside on the deck outside the pub as the sun is setting. Last night I was the only one who booked for dinner (mid-week, off-season) and the chef cooked the most beautiful... More

We had a pretty decently priced dinner, bed and breakfast deal over for a few days around New Years Eve. The room was nice, but no aircon or even fan and the bathroom had a constant very slight damp smell, which was just noticeable enough to be annoying. The dining room/restaurant, pub & lounge areas all kinda connected and looked... More

Hogsback is one of my favourite spots to go and there is nothing more I hate than having to give something a bad review, but the "Christmas" lunch experience we had at Kings Lodge was nothing more than morbid. I booked well in advance for a buffet lunch which cost R190 per person. We arrived on Xmas day, expecting some... More

We flew solo this holiday - but found the perfect spot to compensate leaving our family & friends behind. Central location in the middle of the Hogsback Village. Staff was very accommodating towards us and our toddler, it was like we never left home. We were provided with helpful information about activities and what to do in Hogsback. We enjoyed... More

We stayed in a self catering cottage for three nights. TV available. Very helpful staff. The food was good and the prices reasonable. We loved every moment every request was seen to immediately. Warm and cozy. Fire place with wood available. The lodge is on the main road so you do not have to go on any gravel roads (which... More

It was a last minute decision that I will never regret. The lodge was perfectly situated, it had everything I needed and it was a peaceful retreat after a long day @ the conference I was attending in Hogsback.

We have truly enjoyed our stay at Kings Lodge two weeks ago. The accommodation was absolutely FABULOUS. I loved the beautiful surroundings and spectacular gardens. Evertything was clean, tidy and neat. The self catering unit was fully equipped - even tea, coffee and sugar were provided. I loved the soap dispensers in the bathrooms - filled to capacity with the... More
