We arrived and stayed over for the night. We booked in speedily and were shown our chalet. The chalet although old was clean and very comfortable. All personnel were friendly and helpful ,enjoyed a pub supper and very reasonably priced refreshments . A great breakfast and back on the road after a relaxing walk in the forests. Thank you all

Hogsback being relatively small and far out ,it's hard to get expectations up regarding hotel accommodation. However, the setting is beautiful, natural wildlife on your doorstep, beautiful rolling lawns out the back. The staff are amazing and friendly. We were made to feel very special. Food preparation was of good quality and chef being very hands on, came out in... More

Arrived at the hotel early evening. Checking in was easy and all staff were very attentive. Evening dinner was very nice and well priced. Internet was a little slow but that did not really cause a problem. Breakfast was excellent. I will certainly be staying again sometime.

The Hotel/lodge is situated in the breathtaking mountains of Hogsback. We stayed in the Hotel and the wooden touch to the rooms are Beautiful. We were disappointed that our room was not ready and they seemed to be very unorganized when it came to bookings. We only arrived around 17h00 so it's not that we have been to early. We... More

Whilst the staff were friendly, the hotel is very poorly managed. On the first day of our arrival, the geyser was switched off. After driving for 7 hours, we finished off taking a cold bath on a very cold evening. The barlady who doubles up as receptionist and manager was helpful, she was unable to solve the problems. On Christmas... More

We spent 2 nights at the King's Lodge in December. We had a 3 bedroom cottage with 2 bathrooms. Very spacious. The lodge is somewhat scruffy but comfortable and really laid back. We never felt that there was anything we couldn't do. Our cottage had a well equipped kitchen, a big dining room table and a good lounge area with... More

Friendly and sociable staff but without a shred of confidence that any of them should be managing a hotel. We had numerous issues and complaints - none of which were adequately dealt with: - no working TV - although they found a remote after a while, they couldn't work out how to switch the TV on. I worked it out... More

Even though the cottage was quite comfortable and the bar staff friendly the rest was a nightmare. Trying to book via email was very unpleasant, our dinner was cancelled when we showed up, they didn't even let us know beforehand. Not recommended
