I have just spent a weekend in this hotel. Kings Lodge is in a beautiful setting with big gardens, including swings and a jungle jim for kiddies, plus a swimming pool for summer. All this backs onto a forest. Cows roam and graze freely in the garden behind the hotel. The main hotel has on suite rooms and there are... More

What an amazing stay to say the least! We have been to Hogsback many times before, this was our first stay at King’s Lodge. We found this Country Hotel with home cooked food, spotless rooms and friendly & attentive staff extremely welcoming. This hotel might not be luxurious or modern, at the same time we could not help but feel... More

The town is a must in my opinion. It's small but their belief that Tolkien had any connection with Hogsback while writing LOTR makes this a fun trip. Even if we didn't buy into the story, the kids loved the Hobbit theme areas and we played songs of the movies to make the trip more fun. The town is amazing,... More

Our Dreadful family experience booked through RCI !!!!! This is the direct feedback received from my daughter and son in-law who would have spent the week with us at the resort in a self catering unit this past week. They arrived at the resort one day ahead of us and as a result of our telephone conversation with my daughter... More

I think the best thing the King's Lodge has going for it, is the setting - beautiful bush & gardens surround the Lodge (not sure about the pool though, a bit too organic for my liking). King's Lodge is in a handy location, a short distance from the start of some of the walking trails, plus nice coffee & Belgian... More

Not quite sure about that. Checked in here without doing any online hotel comparisons and after looking at what else was on offer subsequently it seems I might not have made the best choice. The room was small, however the bed looked and was OK and the view from the room was an exterior wall. No shower in the bathroom......... More

Staying at King's Lodge was a wonderful experience. Rooms were very comfortable and well equipped, actually very luxurious for the price. The staff were very friendly and assisted us a great deal during a minor crisis when one of our party got lost in the woods. The breakfasts were huge and very tasty and I can recommend their buffet. Compliments... More

Kings Lodge is a delightful lodge run by exceptionally friendly and helpful hosts. The accommodation is comfortable and tidy and the food is excellent, well worth every sent. During my stay my wife and I had a slight mishap with my Bike and through Craig and Lana’s assistance we located a local mechanic and fixed the Bike in such a... More

Stayed at Kings in August 2012 in the hotel rooms, which are comfy with big pillows and duvet, flat screen tv, and very clean and big bathrooms. Had a beautiful view out to the front of the Lodge so I could watch the snow fall (yes lucky to see it). Dinner was fresh and tasty with quality ingredients. Monique is... More

Wonderful 2 nights of luxury and comfort. Stayed in the Horn Bill room, the rooms are all named after birds, there was a honeymoon couple staying in the Lovebirds room which is quite special. Monique at reception is friendly and provides good information. It is safe to walk through to town from the lodge and to the amazing hikes that... More
