Excellent quiet rural location ideal for Stranraer and Cairnryan ferries to N Ireland. Good value for well presented, spacious, clean and comfortable room (We had Tudor Blue) and good home cooked food. Nothing is too much trouble for the friendly owners Jim and Cindy or their team. more

We chose this hotel as our last night in Scotland before heading to the boat in Stranraer, with a 3 star rating we expected a lovely, quaint, family run hotel, how wrong we were. The hotel itself is in a lovely setting but needs a lot of money spent on it to reach a good standard of accommodation, the room... more

Just spent 4 nights in Torrs Warren Hotel. Had read the review from an irate guest before we left and therefore had some trepidation. Needn't have worried! The hotel is set in lovely surroundings, 5 miles south of Stranraer (which in all honesty is a dump)! The hotel is a bit care worn and could do with some money spending... more

We thoroughly enjoyed the night we spent at this hotel. From first contact by phone from the car to leaving in the morning it was a good experience. Well worth taking the trouble to find (a sat nav is a great help!). The food was excellent and the room delightful. As I put in the visitor’s book on behalf of... more

Stayed at Torrs Warren for a family weekend aka Fawlty Towers. Over rated scruffy hotel, over priced food especiallly the haggis which was paxo stuffing in disguise. Be careful when you pay, pay by cash if you can, They took a payment from my card by withholding my details in their card reader. Will be doing them for fraud. Avoid... more

booked the hotel for my fiancee and I and I have to say the combination of the hotel, staff , countryside and weather made it the best weekend we have had in a long long time. The peaceful setting of the hotel made it a very relaxing experience. The food in the hotel was first class. Just a few miles... more

It is hard work running a small hotel and the couple running this one did seem to be a bit tired. Meal times were quite limited and there was no evidence of the fresh local produce that the web site speaks of. All the staff and the owners were friendly though. The rooms are clean and cosy.Peace and quite was... more
