Altough the rooms are not in the castle, most probably due to some safety regulations, our stay was most enjoyable. Breakfast was great and the staff willing to help. more

If you're looking for an affordable castle to stay in then this is the place! We stayed here for the experience and not the pampering. We had to share a bathroom but had a sink in our room. Sharing a bathroom was not a problem at all other than me forgetting my towel in the room once I was in... more

Travelling with my sister and neice, staying two nights in old stable conversion attached to tower as actual castle rooms no longer available for B& B. Our rooms were just lovely in every way, cozy, clean and comfortable. Our hosts were so accomodating, cheerful and informative. The tour of the castle was very interesting, especially seeing where Mary Queen of... more

Kilravock offers a very impressive setting. We were disappointed to find that the accommodation in the castle itself is no longer used for health and safety reasons with no current plans to make the necessary improvements - which are expected to be expensive due to grade 1 listing status of the building. Apart from the setting the staff offered a... more

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the primrose room in the east wing and especially enjoyed the peace and quiet. The full Scottish breakfast was out of this world. We will be returning this September with my husband's aunt and uncle. They heard us raving about our stay and were excited when we asked them... more

My wife and I recently stayed four nights in the Tower Room with our two teenage daughters, and our entire experience at Kilravock Castle was wonderful. Ken and Ruth Drysdale were ideal hosts, sharing much-welcomed information about the castle history, as well as giving us better insights into Scottish history and culture in general. The previous reviews have been largely... more

I have just stayed in the Upper Tower at Kilravock Castle for 3 nights with my 10 year old daughter and my sister. What a lovely experience. The staff were all welcoming - the breakfast was wonderful (even if we did avoid the black pudding, there was fresh fruit and freshly cooked bacon and eggs). The gardens were peaceful to... more

This Castle has been owned by the Rose Clan for centuries and the current Baroness is still in residence, but nowadays it's used as a hotel and conference centre and the Baroness appears to be a permanent guest of the place. It's not been done up to any great extent so retains a rather 'rough at the edges' appearance, which... more

Had we known how friendly and lovely this accommodation is (was), we'd have surely stayed longer...it was a mid-point stop on our way to Cape Wrath. Extremely accommodating; beautiful, comfortable, quiet room; lovely grounds; excellent breakfast with B & B; reasonable tariff; not one complaint possible! Ken and staff were wonderful and we greatly appreciated their suggestion for a fabulous... more
