I booked Kelapa Retreat looking for something a bit different from the usual madness of Bali for our 35th Wedding Anniversary. I did not make a mistake. Kelapa Retreat is in a very quiet spot on the west of Bali (and it is quiet!) away from it all. It took 2 and a half hours to drive from the airport... More

The Kelapa retreat is a hidden gem in Bali. We arrived there after to chill out after two weeks of trek in Sumatra, and after 5 minutes we already found we should have booked more nights! The place was very new in Summer 2014. Outside spaces are beautifully designed in Terraces with water and an incredible view on the Sea.... More

Kelapa is exactly the place we have been looking for in Bali. A tranquil place off the main tourist beaches. And the black sand made it even more special! We simply had the perfect stay. The staff is extremely welcoming and happy to help you and they have an eye for details. The service at the restaurant is excellent. They... More

My partner and I stayed from the 24-26th of March. I would like to purge the sole negative point first: - This will come across as a giant first-world-problem, one that I'm embarassed to even include: the wifi in our room was useless. Unless we perched ourself on the bedside table in a one-legged martial arts stance. Given the peaceful... More

This is probably the best hotel, I have ever stayed in. Great location, great room, beautiful garden\pool area. The food in the restaurant is really good. So quiet it is hard to believe you are in crazy Bali.

We got a living social deal for 5 nights and it was a first nights in Bali for our honeymoon. It was just perfect. The Kelapa is peaceful and relaxing with a lovely pool and beach. The photos just don't do this place justice. The rooms are very spacious with a great outdoor shower. I don't think it matters what... More

The photos don't do this place justice. It is much more beautiful in reality. Really well designed in contemporary Balinese style it felt very zen. Despite it being quite full when we were there it never felt too busy or noisy, everyone gets so chilled, and the villas are all very private. We were upgraded to a beachfront villa and... More

We looked for a place to relax a few days and found the Kelapa to be the perfect choice. The trip from the Airport takes almost 3 hours but is certainly worth it. The Kelapa has well situated private villas. Ours consisted of one large room, a bath room in the back of it plus a private outdoor bathtub and... More

+Resort is stylish, comfortable and spacious. Location is perfect if you are after miles and miles of deserted, unspoilt, black sand beach and complete remoteness bordering on isolation ( the nearest resort is a 20 minute walk along that beach and the restaurant there is the only other alternative to the restaurant at Kelapa for miles). +There are 10 contemporary... We walked here from another resort, 40 minutes along a perfect and deserted palm fringed beach with sparkling black sand and crashing waves, we approached from the beach and asked if we could have lunch here, we were shown a very warm welcome into a lovely peaceful stylish and compntemporary environment. The waiter was kind, friendly and chatty, the citrus... More
