OK location - ideally one should avoid Surin altogether. The hotel looks much better on the website. The view is nothing to talk about - sea view means you can see some water part from some corner. The hotel is right on the street and does not have a lift. Staff is ok - but communication remains a challenge (if... more

We stayed one night at the Benyada Lodge on Surin Beach. We ate in the restaraunt which was fabulous. One of the reasons I booked it was there was a roof pool and when I checked in I asked if we could use it and they said yes, it is open all the time. We then went to our room... more

The rooms were very nice, we paid extra for a view and balcony. The balcony is the outside of the air-con and a small table, no room for anything or anybody else. The web site did not say that there was a pool but the photos did show deck chairs and what looked like a pool. After walking up 3... more

We decided to book this hotel after reading the positive reviews at tripadvisor and in the lonely planet. Throught the website www.latestay.com we booked it last-minute and paid 2500 baht for a standard room with twin beds. The hotel is in a simple, white, square building at a rather busy beach road. Although it does not look very attractive from... more

Overpriced hotel. Great and fancy lobby, while the rooms are small, old and stuffy, although nicely decorated. We stayed there one week in the end of November. First of all I have to tell to those who are afraid of cockroaches, that right in the first evening of our stay, a big cockroach appeared just all of a sudden from... more

Agree with most of the positive comments. The photos are reflective of what you are getting. The rooms are basic, but clean and cozy. The bed was a bit hard at first, but one gets used to it. The location is great -- close to the beach and several good restaurants. The beach was not crowded comparing to other spots... more

ok, so we looked for the best 'mid-range' hotel in surin bay we loved the place... if you want to pay high-end prices, there's plenty of options in this area..but if you are a bit more humble, but still want to avoid the tourist trash, then this is the place to stay pool action is nothing special (its a bit... more

Lovely little boutique hotel ! Rooms are beautiful - just like the pictures - and very comfortable. Bathrooms are very nice, but interestingly have windows between the bedroom area & bathroom [fortunately they have blinds for those of us who don't want to share quite all our functions with our significant other... ] And yes the shower glass door design... more

Stayed in a "Benyada@Sea" room ... relatively big with a king-size firm, comfy bed. Paid an excellent rate of about USD120/night. Check-in was prompt and friendly. Receptionists were helpful with info on spas. more

The Benyada Lodge is a beautiful hotel. They've thought of all the details, especially in the Thai-themed decor. However, I have a hard time recommending the location - Surin Beach - to anyone. The hotel is less than 100 meters from the beach, but it's a very crowded beach. Yes, it's much less crowded than Patong, but we spent some... more
