We went to Rancho Tranquilo on the week of semana santa (March 30 2015) to ask if they had space for 7 people including 1 kid for a couple of nights. This is a particularly busy week for tourism-based establishments in Nicaragua and we were aware of that. We go to Nicaragua every year to take our friends (4 sisters... More

It took us a few hours to get there from Leon and it was Hot in those chicken buses!!! However, once we arrived we were happy to have come all the way there. That place isnot lying, it IS tranquillo! We planted our tent under the lemon tree and it was perfect. This place can accommodate a couple of tents... More

This is a place that you either love or don't love. We absolutely loved it. The relaxed atmosphere, the great veggie food made by chef Mami, the beautiful, wide beach and amazing sunsets, the cool bar where we made new friends and had inspiring and fun talks with other guests and of course Tina and her "P.A." Richard...unforgettable. Furthermore, the... More

This is definitely the place to go for a fun, but relaxed time in Jiquilillo. I was traveling solo, but everyone eats family style here round the big tables, and the beach bar provides a great atmosphere too, so you're never left on your own. The owner, Tina, is very welcoming, and the Nicaraguan staff, Mami and Isabel are amazing... More

Stayed 3 nights at Rancho Tranquilo. First night in a private cabin with 4 bunkbeds. Matrasses were not that great. Second 2 nights we moved into a private cabin with a queensize bed. This room was nice with good matras, mosquito net. Bathroom Facilities are clean and shared. I took a look at the dorm: it is spacious but some... More

We washed up here, having booked in further up the lane, but unable to stay.... found Tina who laughed at our red faces, having just walked in from the mid day heat with rucksacks. She was an absolute star and checked her spaces and was able to put the 4 of us up in 2 cabanas. They were basic but... More

Myself and my daughter arrived to Rancho Tranquilo as part of a volunteer trip to help ICAPO's project in the Padre Ramos Reserve. Rancho Tranquilo is a rustic beach hostel that had us feeling at home from the minute we pulled in. About 8 km from highway 12 on a dirt road to Jiquilillo. A bright purple gate and hanging... More

I stayed in a private cabin here with my mom, both beds had mosquito nets and were fairly comfortable. The cabins are great, but so basic - just some bamboo nailed together with a grass roof. Nice and homey, everyone generally eats and hangs out together. The fishing village itself is really small and cool to walk through, especially in... More

I remember reading a review of someone who called this place Rancho Loco. It really cracked me up and honestly, it is a little loco but in the kind of way that makes you want to stay because you are surrounded by friendly, goofy people who know how to have a good time. We spent the majority of our time... More
