This was billed as an elegant hacienda by the company that recommended this hotel . Completely misleading and I suggest said company starts wondering about the poor reviews. Start with the positive - the rooms were large and clean though the bathroom could do with some updating. It is a pity that the rooms and dining room were so cold.... More

We were sent here on an Inntravel holiday which included breakfast and evening meal. The rooms were nicely decorated, but very cold in the room itself as well as in the dining room and bar areas. Breakfasts were ok but the evening meals were really poor. Many things on the menu were not available. Those that were available were not... More

We had a large airy room with a terrace overlooking the garden, but the dinners were dreadful, and breakfast butter and jam came in those awful plastic pots that are impossible to open. This otherwise lovely hotel is seriously let down by the kitchen.

By reading previous reviews it seems the food is the main problem with this hotel. We did not have evening meal so cannot comment on the food at night but the breakfast is disappointing. On our second morning we weren't even offered the meat plates from the day before. The breakfast was typically Spanish but seemed to lack thought and... More

My husband and I booked hald-board as advertised, but we were not given a menu. By word of mouth we were offered two choices for each course. Starter and dessert both offered mellon. My husband couldn't eat his meat course and my fish was hard and dry- obviously cooked some time before and kept hot. The tables at breakfast were... More

In the desciption they state that they are only 700 meters from the beach. Did they perhaps mix up the discription of there sister hotel which perhaps is. Hotels always look much more glamorous in photos and this hotel was no exception. Our room was across from the main building and was spacious, large bed, air con and well apointed... More

This is the 4th time we've stayed at Cotijo el Sotillo - and probably the last. For a winter break, at least, the hotel is no longer good enough. The hotel retaurant and lobby were unheated and therefore damp and cold. Our room had not been preheated and stayed cold for most of our stay (we had black mould on... More

We were rather disappointed when we arrived as we thought we had actually booked at its sister hotel on the sea in town(our mistake). This has probably clouded our view as we found ourselves in a dusty compound out of town instead of a hotel with sea views in town. We had specifically requested a double bed and this was... More
