We made a late booking for one night with Laterooms which included Dinner, Bed and Breakfast. We arrived and were greeted by friendly staff and shown to our room in the adjoining block. All the rooms and corridors we saw were very well decorated, indeed the whole place looked to be recently decorated and very clean. Our room was very... More

Overall, I was very happy staying at the Hatton Court Hotel but there were a few areas that could be improved on. The staff were very friendly and helpful which was good. Overall, the decor is good but a few areas were starting to look a little frayed around the edges. The food was good for the most part but... More

The civil wedding room is great with loads of light and the markee is excellent with a screened off area for the disco. When you said that you said it all.. This is not a place if you are into great wedding photography.. There is no flat grass that is not in the full sun or has a bad background.... More

The company I work for is based in Gloucester and we have an account at the nearby Holiday Inn Express. Thank goodness it was full and I had to look elsewhere. I booked Hatton Court for the night and it was not only very reasonably priced but it was a very nice place to stay. My room was spotless, spaceous... More

We paid £179 per night which was an upgraded room with all the trimmings including a summer tasting menu for dinner on the first night. Cream tea on arrival, a jacuzzi bath in room and a large bed. I am now on my second night here and am still waiting for my cream tea!!! Expensive bar prices on bottles of... More

We stayed recently in room 25, great room jacuzzi and powerful shower. Nice and airy with views over countryside. The food was really tasty, however they offered Scallops and salmon on a la carte but upon service was told there was no salmon. However the duty manager was very polite and professional. Breakfast was great. smoked haddock with poached eggs... More

We have mixed feeling to our experience at the restaurant whilst we had our Sunday lunch. Although the hotel grounds and the restaurant initially felt very appealing the quality of food we were presented with was of poor value. My husbands soup was luke warm and inadequate portion of vegetables that was already on the plate. (We were expecting a... More

I had booked and the cost was £60 per double room per night.. on arrival and on seeing the room we all thought had I been told the wrong cost.............incredibly not! Our room was so comfortable with a huge bath and lovely views over the... More

Unfortunately we only stayed one nght here. What a delightful place - deserved of 5 stars. They say its the little things that matter and it sure is. These guys have got it spot on. Our room was delightfully furnished - appropriate to the style of the building - anything modern would have looked wrong. The fresh milk in the... More

This is a beautiful hotel with amazing views towards the Severn estuary. The rooms are large and comfortably furnished with huge beds. It is set in a peaceful location and even though there was a function in the marquee the night I stayed I didn't hear any noise at all from my room in the new part of the hotel.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
‘Contemporary country house with the Cotswolds warmest welcome’ Set high on an escarpment overlooking the Severn Vale this 45 bedroom country house hotel lies between the Cathedral City of Gloucester and Regency Cheltenham. Hatton Court provides the right balance between traditional hotel service and all the benefits you would expect from a contemporary hotel. The Tara Restaurant is renowned locally. It is an ideal place from which to explore the Cotswolds. Hatton Court is a reassuring size; not large and impersonal, nor too small. As a former splendid Cotswold home the feeling is of being eminently comfortable as opposed to grand. Nothing is hurried. The reception is very much a lounge, with leather sofas, magazines and an open fireplace for those chillier days. Next door the bar is more a place to relax, take tea, read and talk than to rush. The care taken to prepare the food, combined with a smiling service, is complemented by the thought that has gone into creating the Tara Restaurant. Fully refurbished in late 2009 the natural colours and soft lighting make a relaxing environment for friends and relations to enjoy each other’s company. Private dining facilities are available in the equally well appointed Cotswold Room. The peace of the surrounding countryside and comfortable bedrooms, some with whirlpool baths, make for a good night’s sleep ready for another day exploring the Cotswolds. ... more   less
