Myself and my husband were staying at the nearby Charingworth Manor... we stopped by to have our supper... the owner was utterly charming, the menu fabulous, the food was divine. The atmosphere created by the open fire, delicious wines and extremely friendly locals was perfect. I had a double baked cheese souffle and open butternut squash ravioli oh and i... More

Outstanding food. Menu looks mundane, but the food is absolutely fabulous. It is obvious that the chef actually loves cooking, as opposed to someone following a recepie. By far the best meal I have had in many months, and that includes some London Michelin starred restaurants. The whitebait is best ever and so generous a bucket. My lamb was perfectly... More

I read somewhere that the Churchill Arms was one of the top gastropubs in the Cotswolds so we stopped in for a light lunch on a recent driving trip around Gloucestershire. It did not disappoint! The atmosphere had a perfect blend of English antique furniture, slate floors and a giant roaring fire. The food was outstanding. I had an absolutely... More

This is a fabulous country pub serving top quality food and excellent wine complimented by lovely staff who could not do enough to help. My wife and I stayed here on a cold Monday night but the welcome more than made up for the weather. The room was very clean and warm with a good bathroom and great views over... More

Wednesday evening in a recession and this pub is going well. Most of the tables were either occupied or reserved but we were soon sorted out quickly, not having booked. There is a bit of the intimidation walking into what appears a locals dominated bar. They do very much look you up and down. Good range of beers (£3.30 a... More

We booked all 4 rooms, which we found to be warm, clean and comfortable, albeit one or two being rather bijou. We ate in the restaurant both evenings, and apart from one or two choices being less well received than others, we were very impressed with both the food, and the service. Breakfasts were also delicious. The setting of the... More

We visited this pub for the first time for several years. We had heard good reports again after several medioca experiences. It was a Saturday lunch and most of the tables were taken bar one. Unfortunately the staff seemed a bit frazzled and overrun. There were also quite a few children about which didnt help the frantic experience. Let me... More

I have been here before as I live quite local and it was all good. After a visit on Sunday evening it has changed my mind. As we walked into the bar we were looked up and down by a snooty member of staff, it seemed like and issue to help us. As there was very few people in the... More

A wonderful spot with a reasonably priced but excellent menu. The meal was ruined by the table next door which was occupied by small children. Parents were some way away and seemed to be unconcerned by their offspring's behaviour. More
