Booked for Sunday Lunch due to a friend's experience and were more than rewarded. It had changed so much from being run down to smart /comfortable. There was a good choice and every thing nicely cooked, with veg served separately. i agree that the gravy helped and the fact that the plates etc were all hot. Best to book. PSGood Garden... More

I arranged for a family gathering of over 20 people here, partly because I had read about the Sunday roasts online and partly because it was close to beautiful countryside where we wanted to be. We weren't disappointed. The roasts were excellent value and there is no doubt that home-made gravy really does make a difference! Steve and Wendy are... More

My daughter lives locally so we came as recommended by her. Staff were friendly, they came asking if food was ok during each course and the food was served promptly and was delicious. The menu was varied and included a specials board of which a lot is home made

My friend & I were travelling from Glasgow to Devon, we hadn't booked anywhere to stop off but found the Beacon Inn on the Off Motorway website and we were delighted with the find. We had been looking for a nice country inn to stop at (something with a bit more character than a Travelodge) and when we called about... More

Food (Roast dinner) was disgusting, but nowhere near as disgusting as the owners attitude!! Completely unwelcoming! Went with my partner, our son and instantly felt like we had done something wrong. Clearly the plump size blonde hair owner has issues with herself. Very disappointed as food use to be lovely and was a very warm friendly pub. Now its just... More

Wendy, Steve, David and the team were truly fantastic during our time at the Beacon Inn for a two day business retreat. The whole team were extremely friendly and could not have been more accommodating catering for 22 of us (Inn can sleep a total of 17), including tea breaks during our meetings, lunches, 3 course dinner and keeping the... Have been to this hotel twice in a week we were so impressed with the food. Really fresh vegetables and the most amazing steak and kidney pudding. All the dishes our party had were very good indeed. Having worked in catering I know the items on the menu were not all off a catering firms supply list. Well done will... More

Have visited before as we live fairly locally, and I must say the new owners have certainly made a difference! The premises in general and the range of beverages offered are impressive. The menu is good, having a choice of "pub food" and full meals at reasonable prices. Various staff appeared while we ate our basket meals, and they were... More
