It was warm but raining when we visited, so our lovely forest retreat was a double edge sword. If it's rainy don't forget your insect spray, seriously! There were mosquito coils and matches available from the kitchen and we seem to keep the pests at bay as we enjoyed a quiet rainy afternoon on our verandah with wine, cheese and... More

Zipped out of Sydney for the weekend and had a great stay at the beach bungalows. We were arriving late but Sandy was on hand to check us with a welcoming smile. She knew the area well and we took up her recommendation for brunch, as well as going for a walk along the beaches. Bungalow was nothing fancy, but... More

I was looking for some rest and relaxation. I found it here. My room was private(number 7), the facilities were excellent and I felt a million miles from anywhere. It is close enough to beaches and coastal walks to connect with nature. I saw about a dozen dolphins. I enjoyed cooking my dinner in the shared kitchen and chatting with... More

We hired the entire YHA for our end of season trip. It was perfect for what we needed. People had their own cabins to chill out in, there were groups hanging out in the pool, kitchen and den! Mark and Sandy were so friendly in all their correspondence and were quick to respond. For what we needed the setting was... More

This hostel is situated in bush land where you may be lucky to see wild koalas walking around. The hostel was built by the owners and you can see the love and passion that they have for the hostel. It has an outdoor bush kitchen which is unique and a great area to meet other guests. It has a nice... More

Had a lovely stay here for 4 nights. Had a private ensuite room, in a bungalow although dorms are also available. It's set in a lush little oasis so is very peaceful and serene. Bush kitchen too which gets visited by possums and kookaburras (so watch your food!). Has a swimming pool and games/TV room. Not like your usual YHA.... More

You will feel so relaxed everytime you walk outside your room. I stayed for four nights and I wished I could have stayed longer! Everyone who stayed there were... More

I have been travelling the East Coast and have come across one of the best places I've ever stayed!! It has everything you need, a great friendly/family atmosphere, very easy to meet new people, all the amenities you could want with an amazing swimming pool and even possums and Kookaburra's joining you for your dinner and breakfast (and if your... We came to Port Stephens for a weekend on a tour from Sydney and left 4 months later! The hostel is in such a beautiful area that it really does feel like you're in paradise. The cabins all have their own showers and toilets and the dorms are really clean. Mark and Sandy make you feel so welcome and at... More
