We spent 3 nights at Pranavam Homestay in February 2014. The room was large with a mezzanine, balcony and great bathroom. It is well located in Wayanad and on a small plantation that grows a huge range of different crops. We were very excited to have coffee growing in front of our balcony! Perhaps the highlight of our stay though... More

As a western middle-aged woman travelling alone, Pranavam Homestay in Wayanad District, Kerala, was a home away from home. The owners, Rema and Ravi, welcome guests warmly into both their home and their very well-appointed guest house. Set in a coffee and banana plantation, one can walk through the property, through tea plantations, and through local villages with the very... More

The stay at Pranavam Homestays was really relaxing and best option for a weekend getaway from the hustle-bustle of the city. The rooms were awesome and the best part was the tasty Kerala food cooked by Mrs. Ravindran (although priced too high). I enjoyed the morning walk in their tea/coffee plantation. The bamboo rafting was one of a kind. Hiking... More

Our first time in Wayanad, the plan was to do nothing, but lay around doing nothing and have everything sorted out for us. My wife, friends and I wanted to spend 2 days to get away from the clutter & stress in the city in a place where we can unwind, relax and be taken care off (wrt food !).... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Mrs Ravindran who not only cooked the finest Keralan meal we had during our holiday, but also hosted most graciously. She was a fount of fascinating information about life in rural Kerala, and visiting her ancestral farm home was a great privilege. The rooms are excellent, and our forest walk and afternoon rafting on... More

our stay in pranavam was a highlight of our Keralan trip. The rooms were the most spacious and beautiful that we stayed in, the food amazing, and they have a great relationship with Muddy Boots, which organised an incredible day of mountain biking and walking near to the plantation.

I stayed for 2 nights on this new year eve with my family.Excellent place for stay. The hospitality of Mrs and Mr Ravindran was exceptional. Mrs Ravindran even prepared Kerala feast in Jain style without onion and garlic for my Mother in Law. The rooms are big and spacious with excellent view of the plantation. The hosts are very kind, caring, helpful and provide you lot of information about waynad. Homely food cooked and served with affection. They also arrange for activities/adventures if interested. Its a home away home :) Must Visit !

Nearly everything about the Pranavam experience is wonderful: location, food, the personal attention, guided walks through one of the largest plantations in Wayanad. Mr. and Mrs. Ravindran are very gracious and welcoming hosts and Anwar was a constant companion and guide to all things Wayanad. I must mention the food again: nothing like it! I will go back!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Pranavam Homestays is Wayanad's first homestay and still the best. The 4 spacious rooms each have a mezzanine lounge area, a very spacious main bedroom and individual balconies that look out onto acres of coffee plantations, tea estates and forested mountains. Pranavam is located at Pozhuthana, just 5.5 kms from Vythiri on the main Calicut highway, and 8 kms from Kalpetta, the district capital. The spectacular scenery at Banasura dam and lake is just 15kms away, while other attractions like Pookode lake, Lakkidi viewpoint and Edakkal caves are located less than an hours drive away. We are famous for our "ela sadya" - Kerala's multi-course meal traditionally served on plantain leaves - it is a meal to savour. A guided plantation walk around our spice gardens will help you work away the calories gently. Come down and enjoy the most relaxing vacation you have ever had!!! ... more   less
