Only stayed here for one night at the end of October, but what an amazing place to stay. Clive & Denise have lovingly transformed an old barn/stable block into an incredible home which really does have the wow factor. Fantastic lounge with lovely fireplace is immediately welcoming and the whole house is full of interesting artefacts (including lots of military... More

The house is stunning & lovely & cool in the 34 degree heat we experienced when we arrived. The food was fabulous with fresh croissants each morning & 2 thoroughly enjoyable dinners especially, as mentioned in a previous review, the herb-crusted cod. If we go back to Normandy, we will certainly stay there again.

Easy enough to find on the main road from Auday we had chosen to base ourselves here to explore the Western Normandy beaches and visitor attractions. The place is a converted barn and Clive welcomed us with a friendly beer (nice touch and very welcome). The place is enormous and very comfortable. Guests are made totally at home and the... More

We stayed here one night on our way back to the UK. Clive (Denise was away) welcomed us warmly and was very happy to chat about the house and about his interest in military history. The house, which they have restored, is full of charm and fantastic artefacts so that round every corner there is something interesting to see. The... More

We spent one night here on the way back from a cottage in Brittany in early June. The owners Denise and Clive were very welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal with them. I thought €38 for a four-course meal with wine, cocktails and after-dinner drinks was a real bargain and we all enjoyed it after a long day's... More

I'm not one who is given to ticking boxes, but this place really does seem to tick all of them. The setting is a peaceful idyl that really does get you far away from the hussle and bussle of modern life. Surrounded by lovely parkland, you know this place is something special as soon as you turn into the car... More

I can't understand why Le Gaudin does not have many Trip Advisor reviews.I found it through Alistair Sawday's site (http://www.sawdays.co.uk/accommodation/?countryColl=France) I stayed here for 5 nights at the very end of August with a friend, in two rooms and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. For about 75 euros per night including breakfast I thought it was very good value for the high... Fabulous stayed here on our way back to the ferry. Do not trust directions from Trip Advisor they are very wrong. We had booked for dinner and throughtly enjoyed a fabulously cooked meal with the other couple staying that evening. Breakfast the next morning was great. The rooms are very comfortable and large. Welcomed by the owner who looks after... More

We were fortunate to be invited to join a group that had rented wonderful LeGaudin for exclusive hire for several weeks. Our 4-night stay in the Noir et Blanc room and in this beautiful restored home was a true journey into Suisse-Normandie life -- we felt as though we were living there, not simply visiting. LeGaudin is well situated to... More
