We often book at the last minute, and I have phoned this hotel several times over the last 3 years for late availability and it is always full. However this weekend we were lucky even to the extent of being shown a choice of rooms and given a free upgrade. Interested to read the previous review, yes food is not... more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a weekend break in November. We found the hotel warm and comfortable apart from the fact that the pillows on our bed were flat and hard. Our main gripe was the food, it was very well presented but was grossly over priced(£10.50 for three scallops for a starter) and if you have a... more

We booked this hotel for a family gathering to celebrate my mothers 60th birthday. I was tempted to book by the lovely photos on the website with the amazing views looking down into the valley... and as usual I logged onto tripadvisor to confirm my choice. Well I can only say that i am glad that I did. All of... more

Firstly, dont be put off by the website its ancient and they are in the process of updating it, i know it put me off this hotel several times. The reviews on here are what made me finally decide to book into this hotel and were so glad we did. This is a wonderful hotel, we found the location easily... more

Having stayed in many Johansens-recommended hotels and wondered just what their "inspector" was looking at, it is good to be able to find one that does justify its rating. This is an excellent small hotel and only a couple of minor issues prevent it from being one of the best small hotels I have stayed in. Arrival was sunday afternoon... more

The views will take your breathe away. The rooms are wonderful, ask for room 3 with the ghost, the restaurant is first class. Very relaxed feel to the property and staff. Great manor house feel and wonderful history that has been well maintained. more

My wife and I stayed at this hotel in November 2006. The hotel is rather difficult to find but worth the effort. I suggest you follow the hotels detailed directions available on their website. The building is a lovely 18th century mansion, but not to large as to be imposing. The Gardens are superb and the views of the Golden... more

We booked a weekend at the Burleigh Court based on the other reviews - and we were not disappointed. The gardens and views are outstanding - sadly it rained most of the weekend but we could imagine sitting on the terrace with a nice glass of wine overlooking the valley !! The coach house rooms cater for dogs and overlook... more

The booking was made to celebrate my wife's sixtieth birthday. Our party consisted of our son and daughter and their partners, my wife and myself. We arrived at lunchtime on Friday and were immediately impressed by the hotel and its stunning location. It was a warm sunny afternoon and we ordered sandwiches, and drinks which arrived promptly and were served... more
