Great stay! Would recommend it to anyone, really comfy bed, good size room! Lovely bath with all the facilities - great for the price! Really kind and welcoming hosts too, just what I needed after festival camping :)

Very comfortable guest house and good value for money. Stayed for two nights in the single room. Room was spotless and tastefully decorated with everything you'd need for a good night's rest and a refreshing shower the next morning. Breakfast was very good, freshly cooked and plenty of it, at a time that suited me. There are a couple of... More

Really lovely welcome - a super single room with all facilities - quite unusual to find easily these days. Everything spotless and welcoming. The bathroom had top range toiletries...not the horrid plastic packets of shampoo etc but top of the range lotions and shower products. A comfy dressing gown was provided and as I was travelling RyanAir and space important....slippers... More

Very comfortable, the owners couldn't have been more welcoming. The rooms were lovely, spacious, clean and had very lovely comfortable beds. Breakfast was great and much enjoyed by us both. Close to many local places of interest and the owners had lots of helpful leaflets to help us choose where to go along with their own personal experiences and advice,... More

I was travelling for 2 weeks on business and stayed at various hotels including 5* on route. Found this charming B&B by chance and was the only one available in the area. After a 4hr drive I was welcomed by the lady of Old Nibley, who offered me something to eat as I hadn't eaten all day. The room was... More

First of all I have to say that Garry was very helpful and cheerful both on arrival and during our stay. Marian however appeared to take an immediate dislike to us. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. I was surprised on reading other reviews to find that not a single biscuit was on offer with the... More

I have never had complaints about my breakfasts from anybody before as I offer fruits, homemade cereals and other things. Milk is put into a a 500ml container for the fridge which is given to the guest virtually full. I cannot please 100% of people 100% of the time although I do try. Unfortunately there are those that revel in... More

Stayed for two nights, in mid July. Having travelled over from Winchester, in heavy rain and with the intention of tracking wild boar in the Forest of Dean. This guest house was a great find 'on the net' and exceeded expectations: well priced often means compromise - not so at 'Old Nibbers'. Lovely, dual aspect room, spotlessly clean and with... More

We stopped for tea and scones on our way pass. We were shown into the sitting room and it was lovely. However the scones were microwaved and the jam and cream had been smeared on it for us. I'd assumed we'd get out own pots to help ourselves. It cost £8 for two cups of tea and two substandard scones.... More

I can only apologise for their experience but I have always had a good response from tea guests, many returning for more. All my cakes are home made with the best quality ingredients including flour from Shipton Mill at Tetbury, and the scones are very popular. I do have other cakes as well all the time, ie, fruit cake, chocolate... More

My partner Steve and I stayed at Old Nibbley for three nights whilst taking part in a local 53 mile walking event in the Wye Forest. Marian was more than helpful and thankfully offered us a late breakfast after the event as we didn't arrive back until early hours of the morning. Room was small, full of character and exceptionally... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The living-room and the bedroom directly above are probably the oldest part of the house, dating back some 300 years; the rest of the building being added over the centuries. There are 2 double bedrooms with king size beds, a twin with 2 singles, and the single room has a 4 wide bed (standard single 3 wide) - comfort for the discerning guest being our main priority. All the rooms in the house have central heating and there is a constant supply of hot water. Enjoy tea or coffee with cakes in our large garden or courtyard (weather permitting), or in the living room in front of a large open fireplace. Homemade cakes and preserves a specialty of the house. The property is conveniently located for easy access to explore the Royal Forest of Dean. Resplendent in late spring, acres of bluebells cover the forest floor spilling over mounds and hugging the bases of trees. It is a wonderful place for walking, and in autumn you are rewarded with the rich reds, golds and rusts as the trees shed their leaves and await the oncoming winter. ... more   less
