This place is operating more of a bar/ restaurant for locals. Less interest in staying guests. Dont find ways to resolve issues to guest's satisfaction. Make excuses and don't appologise. Poor communications.

We are staying in the village and visited the pub for lunch and a couple ( read few) pints on 6 Jan. The pub, the service, the food and the beer were all first rate. We were most impressed with the friendliness of the owner and his staff. So pleased were we with the whole experience, we have our son and... More

Our stay at Ebrington Arms was 'schizophrenic'. Some Positives but totally outweighed by a disrespectful owner who was disinterested in the happiness of his guests. The end result was we checked out a day early of a 3-day stay (even though it was New Year’s Day and the day after our engagement!). On a positive note: The check-in experience, room... More

Oh dear. My husband would have apologised had you not continued to be so beastly in the morning after spending the whole night being horrible to staff. We had nearly 100 happy guests that evening who all had a great time once you went to bed at ten o clock. And the guests whose table you left before your pudding... More

Stayed in room three. Require bathroom work, Entrance step is broken and dangerous, managed to bruise toe visiting at night. Also has no shaver outlet nor in room. Bed was comfortable but extra duvet was required as room very cold when heating turned off. Food was average as expected, staff were excellent.

We stayed the night and had dinner at the Ebrington and we found everything extremely good. From the welcoming decanter of sherry in the beautifully furnished room to the delicious home made bread with dinner we could find no fault. The food was well cooked and plentiful and the accompanying wine and beer of high standard. Whilst the Ebrington is... More

Having read a negative review AFTER booking, my husband/old grumpy felt sure he could be more acerbic than her especially after a wet and detoured journey... The room looked OK to Grumpy but he soon found the biscuits were not in the jar. I could see the first signs of the inner curmudgeon glowing but this is actually where it... More

Some of the reviews here are simply not credible and smack of deliberate misinformation. We had a fantastic couple of days at the Ebrington arms. Great rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Nice atmosphere in the bar with a really good range of beers, wines, whiskeys and Brandys. Imaginative use of local and seasonal produce in restaurant with hearty but sophisticated... More

Although this pub says it's open all day the kitchen closes for lunch orders at 2.30 it's a nice cosy atmosphere spoilt slightly by the unwelcoming attitude of the bar staff who demanded to know whether we had a booking or not. There was plenty of space to eat. We were then told to order quickly as the kitchen was... More

It's odd you've only ever written a couple of reviews on TripAdvisor and both are negative ones for our pub… And you live up the road….yet keep coming back… As for your query about "gastro pub" or "village pub" well we have two rosettes so high standards but we also have a specials board to cater for those that want... We've eaten here lots of times. Splendid menu of classics done really well- and delicious. This time the portions were really pretty miserly and they rkinded us once too often that our table was rebooked later that lunchtime ( generally hate that) - a shame. There are plenty of fab pubs for a wonderful Sunday lunch in the Cotswolds- hope... More

Grandma, Grandad, Mummy, Daddy and baby Noah reached The Ebrington Arms after having walked from Chipping Camden through brilliant countryside on a beautiful autumnal October day, more reminiscent of high summer. What a delight to find Ebrington and the excellent Ebrington Arms. Typically Cotswold discrete from the outside and every inch a proper, old country pub. The menu, à la... More
