We arrived at the Knipoch Hotel by way of default as we had reserved 4 nights at another hotel in the locality. However when we checked in to that hotel it wasn't anything like how it had been portrayed on the internet & therefore we didn't stay. Our initial disappointment turned in to absolute joy when we found the Knipoch... more

Perfect situation, facing a lovely loch. We stayed here 1 night as part of a group of 15 couples on a classic car tour of Scotland, and wished we could have stayed longer! Rooms were fine and dinner was excellent, even for such a large group, and we would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to anyone. more

I stayed at Knipoch with my fiancee for a long bank holiday weekend, and by all accounts we had a wonderful short break. Oban is certainly beautiful, and this hotel just a very short drive from the town is an equally attractive place to stay in. The room was spacious and nicely furnished, with a lovely view of the loch... more

A very good stay with a good family room (very large) and superb lounges. Slightly limited choice on menu for evening meal but excellent quality food and well stocked bar. Staff very friendly and willing to help. more

Stunning views, helpful staff and delicious food made our stay wonderful. Going back again for a winter break to wallow in the gorgeous leather chairs by one of their many roaring fires. Best selection of single malts I have ever seen. more

We stayed at the Knipoch Hotel for one night - and I am glad it was only one night! The hotel is very dated and most of the fixtures and fittings come straight out of the 1970's The hotel room was also incredibly dark - so dark in fact it was impossible to see into our suitcase to get clothes... more

Stayed two nights in a room that was pretty ordinary (apart from the view) and noisy with creaking floorboards in the room above. The dinner menu was restricted, the meal lukewarm and expensive. Breakfast was nothing special. The staff were pleasant and efficient - but we won't be back. more

The only thing going for this hotel is the view. We paid well over £200 for a night's stay with food for a small, tired double room. The bed was 4' 6", if that, with a cover that was too small. The hotel couldn't provide a larger cover, they could only give us an extra single, to cover our feet... more

We stayed in this hotel on the august of 2006 we were travelling in Scotland when looking for accommodation in Oban, since everything was booked we decided to stay in this hotel, Knipoch (nee pock). All though it was a bit pricy, it was great, the rooms were fantastic, the scenery from the hotel rooms were great. It was about... more
