Lovingly renovated Logis, now in its third generation of owners who are putting their own modern stamp while maintaining the traditions of their family and at a more than fair, reasonable price. The buildings and grounds are carefully maintained, the pool and garden offer a delightful respite, and the surrounding villages and countryside provide just what you'd expect from the... More

A beautiful hotel in a lovely location and we had high hopes after reading their website, particularly for the food. One of our rooms was dreadfully smelly of cigarette smoking, but it was changed immediately on complaint. The staff in the restaurant were rather amateuer and failed to even show us the A La Carte Menu so we were left... More

The receptionist was a little bit cold and not smiling. The room was not very big but it has 2 windows. (Orangerie part) we had two beds instead of one king bed... The heater was very warm and the bathroom was a bit like at home. The swimming pool is open even in winter and was ok. The gastronomic dinner... More

Thanks to Logis handbook we found this gem. Large building which must have been fantastic in its heyday. Large rooms, high ceilings and history. With some money spent on its exterior and grounds it could be returned to its former glory. The highlight for me was the food. I had a main of pigs feet. A local speciality. I would... More

Which is probably not what the owners would say, but there is good cooking at the restaurant at the original Edwardian house, but the rooms that we had were fairly glum, and the hotel 3 star at best. I think that one of them is even pictured on the website, which goes to show that pictures can be deceiving! They... More

I have stayed at La Residence three times and highly recommend it to friends. The rooms in the main building are comfortable and well appointed. The rooms in the annexe aren't quite as nice, but still pretty good. The food in the restaurant is outstanding with a good choice of menus and prices. Every time I have had an amazing... More

Region is interesting. Hotel is more or less as other reviewers say. Restaurant is not bad, although not great either. Room decoration, although fairly new, is not really up to date. Quite wishy washy and cheap. Noise from some fan outside. Still probably the best address in that area.

As a holiday hotel in the Vosges, for a get away from it all break it is ideal. We went half board with a room in the Orangerie. The set dinner was excellent - no choice on starter and main course but it suited us and was well presented and very tasted. Big cheese and dessert choice. Rooms were not... More

I have written reviews of my previous visits, the most recent being June 2008. This remains our favourite hotel where we once again were welcomed for our 5 night stay as friends rather than guests. This time (because of the Euro strength) we opted for the slightly cheaper Relais Fleurie annexe which is about 100m from the main building, set... More

Nice quiet hotel, very clean set in beautiful grounds. We stayed in the annexe which was modernised but with some final touches needed. Rooms were spacious. Award winning restaurant is worth a try. Retractable roof over the pool so ideal for all weathers. Small sauna but nice and relaxing. Val D'ajol village is small and only a short walk from... More
