We stayed at Moorlands for a week and stayed in the Dean suite as we had our little dog with us. What a fantastic place. Desi and Mark are lovely people. Desi cooked fantastic breakfasts, we had a small but could have had a large if we wanted. Our little dog settled so well and really enjoyed it as much... More

Moorlands I stayed at Moorlands, recently taken over by Desi and Mark, as I was visiting the May 2015 Gala Day at Woody Bay Station on the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway. In a former life Moorlands had been the Station Hotel, so literally a 50m walk up the path from the station platform. The place was lovely and warm as... More

The former station hotel is perfect for visiting the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway, and it's a beautiful part of the world to stay. The grounds of the hotel are quite large and very pretty. The first impression of the hotel inside is that it is a little dated. It must be said, though, that the new owners have got the... More

As other reviews have stated the hotel is well signposted. We stayed at the hotel as it has a no refund policy, therfore the owners let us transfer dates rather than loose out money. Overall the owners were firendly, however the hotel rate we paid was a bit over the top as the rooms were dated although the bathroom was... More

We stayed in moorlands self catering dean suite. Very clean and comfortable. This suite has a garden so was perfect for our dog. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. There are lots of stunning places to see just a short drive away. Thank you :-)

Earlier this month I stayed at Moorlands with my wife (and dog) in the ground floor Dean apartment. In september 2011 I stayed in the upstairs Bodley Suite and was very impressed and I was equally satisfied with the Dean apartment. Being situated on the ground floor with the entrance into the kitchen (with a tiled floor) was very handy... More

Moorlands is well signed and is located at the end of its own private driveMy niece got married at the end of June and held her wedding reception about a mile from Moorlands. We took over the whole guest house for two nights. The rooms were clean and well maintained, they'd been recently redecorated. The beds were comfortable. The owners... More

We went down the drive and were immeduiately enchanted by the setting and grounds. The welcome was friendly and backed up the and booking made whish was dealt with politely and efficiently. The accommodation was spotless, if a little old fashioned, but this added to the charm. The food was good quality and served in a pleasant dining room with... More

I stayed at Moorlands last weekend in the Bodley Suite. I was thoroughly satisfied with the accommodation which was very clean, comfortable, quiet and well equipped. Moorlands is well placed for walking and other attractions. The accommodation was very reasonably priced and represents excellent value for money. As we were self-catering we did not have any meals but the option... More

Beautiful old country home turned hotel in the middle of Exmoor. Beautiful views over farmland toward coast, which is reachable via paths from hotel. Friendly owners, lovely straightforward breakfast. Lots of privacy. Nice toiletries and tea/coffee in room. Games and books for rainy days. Note that breakfast starts at 8:30 a.m.
