Stayed with a group of friends, and the hotel staff were helpful in the extreme in both the planning and the stay itself. Good food, peaceful surroundings, good company. Plenty of walking and cycle trails. Five vineyards within a kilometre. Superb chateaux nearby. Who could want more?

Lovely location in the countryside close to Chinon and other places of interest in the Loire Valley. The hotel is an historic building and has plenty of charm and set in pretty gardens. The rooms were very comfortable and decorated in a style that suited the building.

Stayed 2 nights. Good room on top floor overlooking the courtyard. Bed ok, bathroom excellent, breakfast also good but cost extra. We had hoped to dine in the restaurant but due I believe to a death in the family it was closed both nights so can't comment. Otherwise very good, lovely old buildings, plenty of parking and very quiet.

Unusually this hotel looked better in real life than in the photos. we had a nice room (No. 1) on the ground floor with a huge stone fireplace. The building was converted to a hotel from an old manor and maybe this was part of an entrance hall, hence the size of the chimney. Hard to tell. The room was... More

I arrived fairly late so didn't get to sample the dinner in the restaurant. However, it was still busy. Free parking in the grounds. It proved difficult checking in. I rang the bell a couple of times but nobody appeared. I asked a young member of staff in the restaurant and she told me something in French which I didn't... More

Our room (9) on the first floor was large with double bed, plus table with four chairs, useful for reading the plethora of brochures you pick up. Large window opening onto tree top. Big bathroom, very recently painted and spotlessly clean with shower over bath, and space to put everything. Brand new towels. Dinner was ok, and there were also... More

We had a room in the courtyard which was very clean, lovely comfortable bed and had plenty of space for cases, clothes etc. We ate in the hotel restaurant in the evenings and whilst it was not "gourmet " standard the food was fresh and well cooked. The staff were very efficient and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.... More

Not sure what happened to Michael W on his stay in May!! We stayed in early June and our experience was the opposite of his. Lovely clean room with antique features, excellent friendly staff who speak English, great value food at night and a good breakfast with jam and marmalade in small glass pots together with meats and cheese. We... More

We were looking forward to our stay even though it was only for one night. It certainly looks the business on the photographs. We normally stay in B & B's but we had struggled to find a vacancy because of the bank holiday weekend. The room we were given was in an annexe which was not a problem. The room... More

Located less than a 10 minute drive from Chinon, and surrounded by vineyards and woods, this hotel is very secluded but is also central for getting around. It is one of these typical French hotels which can be described as "charming" when at its peak it would have been "grand". All the furniture is old but this does not detract... More
