This place was fantastic - absolutely fantastic. We sat outside and lounged around while barnyard cats wandered around our feet (which I enjoyed - some might not) and ate course after course of the most delicious food. The cheeses were to die for. The fig compote was also incredible.
And the setting is like no other: you drive from your...

we only went to the restaurant for lunch , decent simple old fashioned [so heavy] tuscan food, but prices are crazy...starters at €25-35, mains €40- €55 menu at over €100 i think ....
We were the only people in the whole restaurant, little bit depressing but i saw they had a cook book printed in the 80's so guess this...

There is nothing much to add that hasn't being said already about this hidden gem: la Chiusa is the highlight of many of our guests' vacation and I personally had a extraordinary stay. The staff is superlative, so helpful, accommodating and warm. Not to be missed, the dinner and the visit to Dania's kitchen. If you have the chance, try...

We went here for lunch on the recommendation of a friend and has a fabulous meal. The food was terrific, the atmosphere was beautiful (we sat outside surrounded by the beautiful countryside), and the service was very attentive. Every dish was beautifully prepared and tasted wonderful. We would definitely go back!
My wife and I spent 2 weeks in Tuscany this Spring, and had a fabulous time. Everywhere we went we found beautiful sights, great food and wonderful people. But the best meal we had BY FAR, was our lunch at La Chiusa. The restaurant couldn't be more charming, and for us the somewhat remote setting was a big plus. The...

We didn't stay in this hotel but we did come for dinner. We traveled about one hour to have dinner at La Chiusa, and it was well worth the trip! The food was fantastic, the ambiance was so beautiful, and Umberto made our trip! He made us feel so welcomed in his restaurant and we would go back in a...

I didn't stay in the hotel but had heard so much about the restaurant and Dania's cooking that my girlfriends and I went to check it out. We had a lovely lunch outside on the terrace overlooking the valley with a fabulous view of Montelpulciano, Pienza and Montalcino (my favorite area in Tuscany). Everything was tranquil and welcoming. I felt...

The Dining area is pleasant without being spectacular, service was fair and overall ambience pleasant. The food was very good and attractively plated but not outstanding considering the hefty price tags. I agree with earlier users who state that similarly good food is available in Tuscany for a fraction of the prices charged here. Ditto wine prices which are way...

We hiked to La Chiusa from Montepulciano for a birthday lunch. We had a fabulous meal with fabulous service.--we will remember it forever. The quality of the food was only exceeded by the quality of the wonderful folks who run the place. Prior reviewers have expressed concern over price, quality, and value. The price is high but we knew what...
