Excellent luxury inn in Tuscany with wonderful hosts. A great choice if you are staying in the area. The restaurant is especially good; the owners gave us a tour of the kitchen before our meal. A charming and very comfortable inn.

We found La Chiusa to be a very relaxing sanctuary tucked away in a beautiful corner of the Tuscan countryside. The hotel’s grounds and historic buildings are immaculately kept and the hilltop location offers spectacular panoramic views of southern Tuscany, the Val d'Orcia, Pienza and Montepulciano. Proprietors Umberto Lucherini and Dania Masotti (also the chef) are incredibly warm and gracious... More

My wife and I attended a cooking school that was based at this hotel. It was a wonderful experience. The hotel is situated so that it overlooks the valley between Montfollinico and Montepulciano. The view is extraordinary. The staff was very hospitable, and Mondo the cat made us feel right at home. The food was excellent as well. In fact,... More

We love this place. Especially the restaurant and the hospitality. But the rooms are getting a bit tired. In fact, very tired. Our first stay at La Chiusa was probably 15 years ago and it appears that they have not updated since. Our room was very large but with a thrift-store variety of furnishings. The jetted tub was big enough... More

A picture perfect Italian country inn. Very clean. Very nice. We stayed in room 104 and it had stairs in multiple directions. So unique. The staff was excellent and did everything possible to make our stay perfect. We would return to this property again and again.

My girlfriend and I have been coming to this place for the last four years. We really love this place for the nice rooms, brilliant atmosphere, friendly staff and of course the view! We usually spend our the sunset looking over the valley to Montepulciano with a bottle of prosecco, enjoying total peace and silence. We would highly reccomend this... More

I stayed here with friends as the first hotel on our Duvine cycling vacation through Tuscany. I have to say, I would have been perfectly happy staying at this hotel all week! The views here are truly breathtaking. The food and wine were AMAZING. We had dinner over looking the Tuscan hills and between the views, food, and wine, it... More

We stayed here for two nights at the start of our Tuscan Bike Tour with DuVine. (The bike tour was awesome!) We had a wonderful time at La Chiusa and enjoyed Dania and Umberto and their exceptional staff. As we started to eat our first dinner here, everyone realized how special it was! The gnocchi was positively the best I... More

We were told to try this place - though we did not actually have the luxury of staying here, but our few hours of dining was worth the trip (we drove about 45min drive from where we stayed). The staff was excellent and Dania puts her personal touch into each delicious meal! We read through her cookbooks which are helpful... More

We recently spent a week at La Chiusa while attending the Tuscan Women Cook program. The hotel is and old olive oil mill which has been converted into a beautiful hotel and restaurant. Umberto makes sure the hotel runs like a clock, and Dania is the talented chef who makes sure the restaurant turns out delicious food. We were also... More
