From the meet and greet to the departure after two nights stay: nothing was too much trouble (not that anything needed extra attention), and all staff appeared to take their land-lady's lead: smiling, helpful attentiveness. My room - Edward VI - was very well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was quick and of good quality; my evening... More

We spent New Years Eve at The Kings Head and what an outstanding time we all had. There was a large party of us and they catered to everyone's needs including a special 5 course menu for the two children in our party. Great atmosphere throughout the whole pub and a disco to accompany the whole experience. Looking forward to... More

We stayed here for a night and also ate in the restaurant. This pub has been recently tastefully redecorated so photos on here don't really do it justice. The landlady is very personable and on the ball. Room was comfortable although a bit warm despite the chilly December night-hence we left our window open. Being a pub expect noise from... More

We stayed here on route home and we had a very lovely welcome on arrival. We were very happy that we could book just the one night on Saturday as too many places now insist on a two night stay. The Kings Head is so attractive with very attentive staff with the main restaurant room especially beautiful and the food... More

We recently celebrated my husband's 70th birthday with a surprise party of over 40 family and friends at The Kings Head. They worked very closely with us in the planning as myself and immediate family do not live in Hampshire but friends and wider family do hence the venue. We had the very atmospheric and cosy skittle alley downstairs and... More

We stayed there last Friday night in the quaint Inn that has got many modern twists. Having stayed here before we had no hesitation on rebooking. After a great day and lunch in Winchester we ambled our way to the Kings Head . Having been allocated a quiet room when we entered, the smell of fresh paint indicated that this... More

We stayed at the kings Head in October 2014. The location is picture perfect in the heart of the village opposite the church. The bar and restaurant are clean, well decorated and inviting. I will separate the three main points to review hereafter as follows; Restaurant - we ate in the restaurant on the Friday night, which served great, very... More

There are some really good points about this hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was good. The room however was looking very tired. I understand that rooms do get worn but there is no excuse for poor cleaning. The bathroom really needed a good scrub, stains in the loo and around the sink. The door... More

The King's Head really is a little gem. There are a number of reviews on here that I can only say are misleading and very unfair. The staff are all very helpful, friendly and will try and do anything to make your stay more enjoyable. I booked the single room as was travelling alone for business, and I was not... More

Had a great night at the kings head. Great food, great service. Unfortunately no wifi due to a local fault but totally out of the control of kings head. Lots of laughter, lots of fun and a lovely room to stay in. In the morning I was offered £40 off my bill for the lack of wifi!!! Amazing service but... More
