A lovely well kept place - pity that there isn't so much to do in the area. We tried going for a short walk to explore the area but since the farm is too close to the main road this was not safe for the little children. There were no animals to feed. Rooms are lovely and comfortable and food... More

Zafare is about feeling the special guest of a very friendly and kind family that does it utmost to feel you at home. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The dinner offers all specialities of the Sicilian kitchen, prepared by 'la Mamma' herself and accompanied by the delicious red Grenache wine from their own wine-yard! Zafare is the perfect base... We expected to arrive at a real Italian Agriturismo and to eat great home cooking with produce from the farm itself. We were met by a friendly and hospitable girl, but unfortunately she only informed us that the restaurant was closed and that we had to drive 20 minutes to Caltabellotta to get some real food. There were closer alternatives,... More

We were delighted by our experience here. Loretta and her family were perfect hosts. She is fluent in English and eager to make your stay a comfortable and relaxing time. The food was outstanding with dinner a memorable and classic Sicillian experience with fresh pasta, fruits, vegetables, and wine. The setting is serene-nestled in an olive grove just down the... We found this place by accident, by their sign by the roadside. It was a wonderful place and wonderful people, young families with children working their orange and olive groves. Their local cuisine is simply excellent, and their own wine very delicious. From our room, we had a great view towards Caltabellotta, this incredible town glued to the mountaintop. Highly... More

We stayed for two nights primarily to visit the very interesting town of Caltabellotta. The nearby small village of Sant' Anna is also worth a visit. The highlights of our stay were the evening meals prepared by the matriarch of this family-owned rural guesthouse. Daughter, Loretta, served up the best Sicilian specialties we tasted during our 10-day self-guided tour of... More
