Beautiful location on a quiet bay with a great sandy beach, lovely garden, and super staff. A supermarket is within easy walking distance. For nearby restaurants, we especially enjoyed the creperie. We only wish we could've stayed longer!

Wonderful place to stay at. We had Sea facing room, number 4 on the first floor. Please choose a Sea facing, higher floor room. The lagoon water is just 25 feet from the room. It is advisable to rent a car while staying here. I had booked mine from SIXT car rental and picked it up at the airport. Do... More

We checked in at la Mariposa with our friends and it was amazing. The view from the terrace is amazing and as the weather was fine on that weekend we had an amazing sunset. The sun beds facing the ocean are amazing and the pool is nice for a dip too. We will definitely be back.

La Mariposa offers nice comfy bungalow on a lovely beach. Nothing special about the services offered but the location and scenery is gorgeous. Rooms are clean and staff is polite and quite efficient. Location is out of the main touristic spot of the Island, try it and take for what it is: a good opportunity to rest in a simple... More

We stayed in a sunset room which opens onto the sand with direct access to a beautiful swimming beach. The property has a beautiful garden with lots of happy birds and jumping frogs. The only 2 downsides are they don't have a laundry service and the breakfast, which was just toast and apples. But just arrange your own food and... More

We have had an excellent week spent in this hotel! We were amazed at first by the colorful garden with a lot of colorful birds and the view from the beach. We had planned to spend our first week here to explore the island and we did it well. Don't hesitate to rent a car and drive around. This is... More

We stayed here for our second week in Mauritius in November 2014. Coming from a 5 star all inclusive week on the other side of the island, this was a bit of a change but that's exactly why we chose it. The location (directly onto a lovely stretch of sandy beach) could not be better and more than makes up... More

(4 and a half really) The Mariposa faces its own delightful and very quiet bit of beach with a superb backdrop - great views from your balcony!. It is quiet - the staff are not always to be found but when you do they are very friendly and helpful. The units have mini kitchens - and the shower always had... More

We planned a week here and stayed for 2, the unit was very well suited for our young family and it was right on the beach. The staff were helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a great self catering place to stay, you can't go wrong here.

My wife and I had a one-night stay-over at this budget self-catering establishment. We paid 88 Euro for a double-room. We did not use the self-catering facility, but the furnishings and equipment were functional and well-maintained. The room and the bedding were clean. A simple Continental breakfast is included in the price. The property is right on the beach and... More
