This was our 3rd visit to the Maldives and most of the critic we have read cannot be confirmed. There will always be complainers. We went there for 3 weeks and have to say it was great value for money. The Hotel itself is made up of rows of bungalows divided into rooms that have a bathroom, a safe and... More

Just had the most amazing holiday here. I was a little worried after reading the reviews but i didnt have to worry, from the minute we arrived we were treated very well, the staff were a real credit to this hotel. The gardens in the hotel are stunning and well maintained,a real pleasure to sit in. We had a few... More

Maybe one of the best places I've been to , we came on the 3rd August the low season there was possibly 18 people staying at the hotel and the staff made us feel like kings and queens , nothing was a problem ,food was class I love curries and was not disappointed , the staff from the cleaners to... Equator Village is the perfect place to really explore the local way of life in the Maldives. It's setting inside the former RAF base is secluded and very private. The area is full of all varieties of vegetation and mature trees, some of which cannot be found anywhere else in the Maldives (since they were originally planted by the British... More

After living in the Maldives for many years, I finally had the opportunity to visit Addu and decided to stay at Equator Village. The first thing I´d like to point out is that, unlike most resorts in this country, this place gives you the opportunity to experience the local culture any time you want as it is connected to local... This was my third time in Maldives, different regarding the first two times, when I was on Kuramathi island and on Fun island. Those two are strictly for tourism, while Equator is also inhabited with locals - on the other islands, connected with bridges. I was disappointed with the beach here, there was a lot of grass on the beach and... More

The hotel is no-noncence, clean and good. Thank God there's no disco, no karaoke, no nothing noisy! Rooms are spotless clean, tv, tea station, air-conditioner and bathroom facilities work excellently. The meals in an all-inclusive restaurant are just great: the curry dishes they cook are really the best I've ever tasted, and I've been to 5stars hotels!! But the hotel... More

You get a chance to discover life in Maldives with local culture. It is something more than being closed in tourist ghetto. There are possibilities like cycling around group of islands, snorkel trips by boat or boat trip to uninhabited island, etc.

My first trip to the Maldives was as an NCO with the Royal Air Force in the mid 1970's - the place RAF Gan. The base closed down in 1976 and is now a fashionable luxury resort. So back to the same venue to take a look. The original military facilities on the island have all now been adapted to... More
