We had a great time here over Xmas 2007/08. Equator Village is well run and provides very good value for money. If you want over water bungalows go elsewhere. If you want the cheapest means of staying near the equator with the best diving in the world a 30 minute boat ride away and the ability to interact with real... More

I spent 9 months on the island in 1972 whilst in the RAF. the island has changed a bit since the Air Force pulled out in 1976. The hotel is actually the old Senior Ranks Mess. it has been updated and is quite modern. Air Conditioned rooms and quite spacious with wet room and toilet facilities. All rooms are just... More

Gan Island has an interesting history in that it was a British navy and air force base from 1912 to 1974, and played an important role during WW II. Obviously, the natives were forcibly ‘relocated’ but the creation and operation of the base did result in good infrastructure for Gan (and Addu), the airport with the long runway being one.... More

We stayed here for a few days earlier in the month and enjoyed the stay. When we first got in touch the replies were quick and filled with information. We had them book our flights and they then met us at the airport (just down the road). The room was comfortable, clean and basic, but you didn't spend too much... More

The staff is really nice.internet is bad and doesnt work in the rooms. Dont have beach.everthing is included, food(not so good) and drinks(wine, beer, gin, whisky, rum, water, juices).the swimming pool is nice. No music, no entertainment at night (boring).is good for people who want silence. Its possible to rent a biciclet(for free)and ride around the island and apreciate the... More

Back after a long gap. Some changes but so much remained the same - the people, the place, the peace. Hotel was great value for money. The staff were open, helpful and friendly. Plenty of good, uncomplicated food. Rooms were basic, clean and functional. Location was spot on, walk from room to pool to beach to sea, was seconds! Brilliant... More

We booked this holiday with Cosmos, and we were very happy that we paid a very fair price for the Maldives and were not disappointed in what we got. However, if your looking for that isolated island for honeymooning dreams, then this may not be your cup of tea. We were looking for something a little more integrated into Maldivian... More

We had a great few days at the Equator Village. We chose this place because it seemed low key and it was connected to many other populated Maldivian islands. The beach isn’t great, but the snorkeling there sure rocks! The resort is conveniently located just a kilometer from the airport terminal, within easy walking distance. From there, causeways and islands... More

Equator Village reflects the military base it once was. Everything is ship shape and Bristol fashion, tidy, clean and well run. The all inclusive basis is incredible value for money (beer is free, but at the Shangri-La over the water it is $9 a pint), and both the snorkelling trip reef and the reef just wandering out from the beach...
