We popped into the Darnley en route to Causey farm at the weekend and I have to say it was lovely to be with my two young children and feel so welcome. It has a great family friendly atmosphere and the staff couldn't do enough for us. The Sunday lunch was tasty, hot and my husband was pleased with the... More

Didn't stay in the Darnely lodge but went in for lunch. The carvery lunch was just dire. Hospital food! The bacon was just grizzle and my wife had the plaice whichagain was awful. Veg was huge lumps of carrots and grey looking cabbage that had been boiled to within an inch of its life. Also the parsley sauce was straight out... More

I have stayed at this hotel many times. It is a lovely hotel in downtown Athboy, very quaint and comfortable. I have sat by the fire many times next to the bar/restaurant working on my laptop and sipping a cup of coffee in the morning or a pint of Guinness in the evening. The staff is super friendly, the food... More

I had the pleasure of revisiting this fantastic hotel with a group of 20 other people, we do these type of overnights on a regular basis and this gem of a hotel would be hard to beat on all counts. The staff were so helpful, courteous, and attentive it felt like we were in a 5* hotel. The food was... More

My husband and I and extended family have just stayed at the Darnley Lodge where we all agreed that the staff were just absolutely amazing and couldn't have done more for us - completely faultless. They went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed but more importantly, did things that we hadn't asked or expected such... More

I recently had my hen party in Athboy. We stayed at the Darnley Lodge and went to Causey farm for our activity. The whole experience was amazing and I had the best weekend ever. The staff at the Darnley lodge contributed hugely to this, they were fantastic. The food was also top notch. Highly recommend this hotel.
