As some reviewers have said, this hotel is a little dated in it's decor but more than makes it up with great service and facilities. The staff are friendly and helpful and despite language barriers are able to help in any way. Ate several times in '154', the bistro cafe, and enjoyed every meal - from traditional Thai dishes to... Overall we decided this was the best hotel by way of Location when staying in Phuket Town, and it really was. Almost everything was within walking distance or a short/cheap Tuk Tuk ride. The rooms themselves were a little rundown and smelt waterlogged.. but the beds were comfortable and the hotel wasn't overpriced. Best thing about this hotel was the... More

Dropped into their front restaurant for a quick lunch whilst doing a walking tour of old Phuket. Very fast service which was appreciated, good food, friendly staff, clean facilities. Would check this hotel out if returning in future.

While in Thailand for two weeks, we stayed here only one night, to attend an early morning traditional Thai wedding held in one of the hotel ballrooms. It's central to Phuket Town, easy walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops. The hotel rooms are fine, clean, zero issues. The overall hotel feels a bit tired, but it's safe and... More

We stayed two nights there. Nice staff overall, but poor maid service (did not re[ace towels, bath mat nor face towels). Two maintenance issues, but both were taken care of efficiently. This is a non smoking hotel, but the Chinese tour groups smoke in the rooms. This is the best value and quite decent hotel in Phuket Town thus far.

A few steps from Phuket Town. We were tired from a big day in Phuket. We found that this hotel still has a room available for day use. The royal phuket city located in superb area. Check-in was very swift. The room was very clean. The restaurant was fabulous. the waiter and waitress were nice. A big THANK YOU to... More

This was our third stay at the "City" in about four years. The hotel needs a revamp, rooms and corridors getting rather shabby. We only had tepid hot water ( lucky it's Phuket ), which wasn't rectified despite our reporting the problem. The superior room however, was of a good size, had the normal standard facilities, with efficient air conditioning. The... More

Stayed here twice, once in a Superior suite and the other time in a standard room. I also saw the standard rooms of some friends staying there. The guest rooms are looking tired and quite shabby in places. Also find it annoying that wifi has to be paid for, when most hotels give this free. Breakfast was quite poor. One... More

Our first room had a very bad smell, and we had to get another room. The carpets in the halls, also seemed quite old, and maybe could have been cleaned better. We liked the location in the center of Phuket town, but maybe the value for money could be better. Their 154 Cafe is nice for a lunch.
