I booked the Karon Whale Resort for it's location and getting a good 'low season' room rate. Yes, the location is good, in the heart of Karon and only a short walk from the beach, bars and restaurants. The staff also were helpful and friendly apart from one of the security guards who seemed to be in a permanent bad... More

After staying at the resort in July 2012 it was an easy decision to book another week there. Unfortunately, changes have clearly been made, and not for the better. The rooms are not clean. Walls have stains, windows were dirty. Cobwebs on the ceiling. There are NO English speaking staff. When I was there previously there were two or three... More

This is one of the most peaceful hotels we have stayed in during our stay in Southern Thailand. It is approx 300 metres from the beach but in a side street away from the traffic noise. We booked a superior room with twin beds. The price difference between superior and standard was not a huge amount. The room has air... More

Just stayed at Karon Whale Resort and I was very disappointed. I have been going to Thailand for 16 years and I have stayed in many ranges of hotels and guest houses., this hotel is one of the worst I've stayed in. The rooms were in need of some painting, but they were instead replacing floor tiles in the reception.... More

During our visit last year to Karon we met a couple from Australia who were staying at the KWR (Karon Whale Resort) and said it was very nice. As we knew we were going to be in Karon this year we went and had a look. The entrance was very good although we didnt look at any rooms. We booked... More

Our holiday at the Karon Whale Resort didn't get off to a good start as the transfer we had booked from the airport to the hotel didn't turn up although this had been booked directly with the hotel. We had to get a taxi from the airport which actually cost less than what we would have paid for the hotel... More

Very good breakfast is available and sunny swimming pool! Rooms a big, really well cleaned and the A/C work great! Try the thay... More

Stumbled across this one stayed for just one night as booked to go elsewhere. Looks grand from the foyer, rooms very clean, with good amenities, breakfast was buffet style with good choice. Swimming pool good and clean with plenty of sunbeds. Ideally located for bars/restaurants etc. I had some issues using the hotel wi-fi and lost some property, found it... More

After our first trip on Karon beach we were sure we gonna get back there soon. This time our choise was Karon Whale - much more closer to the sea then our previous hotel. The hotel is situated between Karon and Kata - the top two beaches for a budget vacation. The territory is tiny, but very well-groomed. The staff... More

Have been staying in Karon Whale for 2 weeks in November-December 2011. Here is my summary on this hotel: Let's begin with good sides. The location of the hotel is very nice: 5 minutes by feet to the Karon beach, 1 min to bars, shops and taxi\tuk-tuks. The room was huge, though I was in Superior room, didn't see Standart... More
