I have nothing but compliments for Studley Castle and its staff. Lisa, manager, was absolutely wonderful!!! Nothing was too much for her. She would take time to talk to each guest and we were lucky enough to have some other great guests staying at the same time. The picturesque drive up to this beautiful castle and the well decorated downstairs areas of the venue are then hugely let down by the general lack of hospitality and poor quality food. We went to book our wedding there and were told for exclusivity, the cost woul be £9K... then the hotel was sold out o a private company (previously owned by Rover and used as their trining site), and the cost went to £14K. Studley Castle was never a castle it was a Agricultural College for Young Ladies. The owners have done a good job of converting it into a hotel but its institutional roots still show.
