I stayed at Sponars with a friend for a mini break with out the family. It was perfect - breakfast and dinner are included in the nightly tariff which meant I didn't have to think about shopping or where to eat! The room and bathroom was clean and comfortable. The chalet is perfect for a ski holiday. There is wifi... More

The buildings are a bit tired and you have to carry luggage up stairs (up to four floors). The rooms are basic and not very sound proof, which means you could luck-out with noisy neighbors. However, the customer service is excellent and it has a nice homely lounge with a bar. The meals are generous. One frustration is the lack... More

This was my first stay at Sponars. I had seen it so many times travelling up the mountain to Perisher and always thought it looked like a good place to stay and I was not disappointed. First impressions was great, Penny in the office was so good to deal with it left you thinking i hope the rest is as... More

Excellent place to stay for the ski season with the family. Close to Perisher Valley and on-site parking. Value for money, excellent service with a wonderful friendly helpfulness from all the staff. It was like staying amongst friends. Snow at the door. We built a snowman just outside our window.

We have stayed at Sponars Chalet many times over the years and it has now become our home away from home for the ski season. Only 7km from Perisher Valley and free on-site parking is a big drawcard. They have their own courtesy shuttle bus running to the ski fields 3 times in the morning and then for pick up... More

This is an excellent place to stay for "almost" on snow skiing. It is only 8km I think to Perisher and a courtesy bus runs several times each am and pm if you don't want to drive yourself (great for snowy days).I think the bus service stops once the shoulder season has passed. You are able to park at the... More

We stayed at Sponors Chalet in the first week of August and were nicely surprised at the value for money. Sure the rooms are old and could do with a face lift, but the friendliness and helpfulness from all the staff and the owners Peter and Penny was outstanding. Anything we needed was provided with a smile and the food... More

I have been driving past Sponars for the past 35 years and until this trip have never stepped inside. I now regret having not stayed here in the past. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this historic building which retains its charm and character. It is comfortable, cosy and inviting and the lounge and bar area is... More

we stayed for three nights in the july school holiday, for school snow sports. it is a lovely, traditional lodge. the staff were beautiful and the bar positively sparkled after a day in snow. the food was hearty and homely as you'd expect. our room was very snug for four, but perfectly adequate. the only issue was that it wasn't... We stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed it. Waking up to the picturesque snow outside was so beautiful. With only a short drive to the slopes, the location is superb. The evening 3 course meal is divine and the breakfast is excellent. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, always checking in to ensure you are having a... More
