An idyllic, rural retreat for those seeking tranquil surroundings. Within striking distance (by car) of places of historic interest such as Craven Arms and Ludlow and some of the best walking and hiking you're likely to get anywhere in England/Wales. The Crown Inn is lovingly cared for, providing a warm welcome and high quality accommodation. We had a lovely double... More

Cycled up there on a Sunday at lunch time for a drink only to find it shut tight...told owners away for 3 weeks holiday....no notice to that effect. Most strange. Perhaps it would have been better to have someone in there to run it in their absence?

Lovely rooms, food, hospitality & beer in beautiful and quiet location. Fantastic for walking and cycling. Exactly half way along Offa's dyke.

Good stay, nice room, food was as it should be, beer warm (good choice), wine cold, breakfast more than plenty! Would recommend if you are in the area.

We stayed for one night (a couple and young baby). The owners were very hospitable and helpful. We ate at the inn in the evening and also had breakfast the next morning. The food was very good, home cooked and fresh. Our room was nicely furnished and comfortable. The surrounding area is beautiful - great for walking and exploring.

We had a 2 night mid week "getting away from it all" break at this lovely B & B in Shropshire. It was all lovely from the weather to the spotlessly clean rooms, the delicious home-made meals in the pub restaurant, the great breakfast & Lindsey & Debs who were so welcoming helpful & friendly. All in all a brilliant... More

Stayed here for one night with a party of seven walking Offa's Dyke. Only about half a mile from the path along a quiet lane so ideally placed. Had a great experience with the Crown from start to finish. The owners were friendly and helpful while handling the booking and this continued during our stay. It's a nice old pub... More

We stayed one night at the Crown Inn, Newcastle on Clun. As a B&B, I cant fault it. Very good accommodation, comfortable, modern and spotlessly clean. Facilities and public areas all very well maintained and spolessly clean! Full English breakfast - perfect! Service, excellent - very accommodating hosts, they really do look after you! Location is good for walking, we... More

The Crown Inn is a really good place to stay if you want to see the most scenic parts of the Offa's Dyke national trail. The village of Newcastle is the mid point of the 176 mile long trail. Linzi and Deb provide a warm welcome and good food, try their version of porridge, it really sets you up for... More
