The staff here are very friendly and welcoming. The room I had was a bit dated and basic but it was clean and adequate. The food here is excellent with a good choice for food in the evening and freshly cooked breakfast in the morning.

I stayed at the Griffen for one night on Oct 9 th. 2014. The booking was easily made. Another hotel on London road was actually suggested, but the Griffen, with breakfast included, was working out to almost £ 20 cheaper for the day I wanted. I informed them that I was only getting in at 9 pm. Richard was ok... More

We recently stopped off here for lunch whilst on our way to Norwich. It was refreshing to see something out of the norm as a vegetarian dish on the menu. We had mushroom, Stilton and broccoli pancakes. It was delicious! Lovely country pub...would definitely visit again.

The photo has been taken from the town church and is a very favourable angle. The pub is a town centre pub on the main high street and has no parking. Windows are single glazed and you can experience all of the busy town centre frivolities, all night. Rooms and staff are pleasant, just a bit of a surprise that... More

Stayed here for four nights with work, and despite being admittedly a little unsure when I first arrived (after entering the hotel through the pub) I was impressed with my stay. My single room was quite spacious, well provisioned and the temperature was great. A lack of water pressure in the shower and a bit of noise from downstairs's karaoke... More

I only stayed one night whilst on business in Norfolk but it was ok. The room was spacious, overlooking the church and gardens. I used the restaurant, although actually ate in the bar to watch a world cup match, and it was fine. They do try hard to please.

We stayed here whilst attending a Snetterton race. Great location in the middle of the village which has a lot to offer. We didn't eat in the pub purely as there were too many other choices within walking distance. However the breakfast was lovely so I can only assume the evening meals were equally as good. My room, a single,... More

We enjoyed our accommodation at the Griffen. Our 4 poster bedroom had been recently renovated. Bedlinen was really lovely, everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was good (best scrambled egg we've had outside our own house). Dinners are above average as pub food. Thoroughly enjoyed our choices. Small amount of off road parking. Suspect at busy times Parking is on street.... More

We didn't stay here but ate here after moving house and were too tired to do anything. The locals were friendly and the food wonderful. I recommmend the steaks, mansize eating, absolutely delicious, sourced locally. All the food on the menu is good.

This is a reasonable pub accommodation, with a few tweaks it could be a very good pub accommodation. My single room was small, but with a very large window overlooking the charming churchyard, so it did not feel claustrophobic. The bed was comfortable, but had no mattress protector, and the elderly duvet- cover had splits at the sides. There was... More
