The buildings and grounds of the Chateau are faultless. Picture postcard. But this is not why we are here. We've been driving all day and are hoping for a really comfy (and luxurious) stop over. Everything is just OK, but in sore need of refreshing. The rooms and common spaces are a bit shabby, the staff clearly not loving their... More

From the surroundings, the historical grounds, the park and its maintenance; your arrival exceeds your expectation. Not even out of your car, an attendant greats you in parking lot and assists you to the Chateau for check in! Staff is 5 star professional. Rooms are updated and comfortable yet maintaining the charm and furnished chateau style! The spa is incredible!!!... More

We probably would have liked this place more with more time to spend there. As it was we did not take advantage of the activities offered so the price for what we did receive was high in my opinion. Our fault, not theirs. I came away thinking this is not a place to just stop for the night as we... More

From the start till the end a perfect stay. Only minor was that there's no restaurant in the Castel and the breakfast in the weekend of a weekday is completely different and that the Castel is a little bit outlying.

We arrived on a very wet and windy night. The car park is relatively far from the Check-in and we were fortunate to be able to stop a guy in a buggy who took us with suitcases to the desk. Our room was beautiful, wood panels and in a tower with windows looking out over the moat. Unfortunately, the water... More

It is a pity that with such a nice property the management isn't careful of the details that would truly make it 5 stars instead of 3. You can't call it a luxury retreat if: you don't have valet parking, the guests can't bring the car to the front door to unload the luggage and passengers but rather have to... More

we stayed 3 days for a company seminary early december : castle is lovely with a beautiful park but "useless" in winter time (small outdoor pool but again only from june to september ) ; it is in the middle of nowhere ( you can only drive there, no public tranportation ) so place to go in spring or summer.... We spent a romantic 2 nights / 3 days stay at Chateau Villiers le Mahieu. We stayed at La Frenaye (an extension relatively recent compared to the castel) , for the price and for proximity with the restaurant and the spa. We absolutely loved to walk in the parks, and the castel is magnificent. So bad that : - the... More

We spent a weekend there just after the Easter so it was cheaper and not crowded. The Hotel's offer for a 2 room bed without breakfast was 162Euros. As I couldn't get my international driving license on time, we decided to take the train from Montparnasse to Garancieres-La Queue and walk the remaining 6.2 km to the hotel. It's almost... More

Wonderful gardens, beautiful rooms, lovely spa, peace and quiet. The castle itself is nicer than the annexes, so try to reserve a room in that. The golf place looks well kept ans spacious. Prices are on the high side but taht is to be expected in a place this exquisit. Great for aromantic get away.
