This was the first time we had undertaken such a weekend, ie:- in a B&B as opposed to a hotel, and we were very pleasantly suprised, its a lovely house in a good location, hosts Ian & Lynne were knowledgeable about the local history and genuinely enjoy what they do which put us at ease right away. The food was... More

Our walking breaks are a pleasure to run and this group had a fantastic time in the Quantocks. The Coleridge Way walk takes us to some beautiful countryside and, with a visit to Coleridge’s Cottage at the end, a perfect day. The village is an ideal location for a spot of sightseeing and relaxing. Thanks again. More

We went for an average rating of this establishment as there is no "Good" rating and we didn't think that the "Very Good" was appropriate. We arrived early and were able to get into the room, which was much appreciated. The room was on the first floor, and was a great size for us and our two dogs, with a... More

We too think it is a shame that there is no ‘good’ rating, but we are pleased that these guests would have given us one if it had existed and we thank them for such positive comments on the room etc. As for breakfast, this consists of bacon and sausage from our local butcher, tomatoes, mushrooms and potatoes and fresh... We stay there the day we got engaged. We had a fantastic dinner cooked by the owners, providing excellent vegetarian option. Afterwards we joined them at the local pub and had a lovely evening. Great breakfast including an entertaining quiz. Rosa & Rich

They got engaged when staying with us - how romantic is that? Always happy to cook vegetarian as long as we have a bit of notice and alternate Tuesday are quiz night at the Rose and Crown. Guests always welcome to come and lose with us! More

Lovely B&B in a peaceful village. Room was everything we expected, very comfy. Made to feel very welcome, Lynne and Ian are great hosts. Excellent breakfast and dinner, and the beer was good too! Great to see that being dog friendly is more than just a marketing claim, Doris appreciated the home made biscuits and we really appreciated the way... More

Doris was a lovely guest and I am glad she enjoyed the home-made dog biscuits - Ian obviously has too much time on his hands! We always try and make our dog guests as welcome as the humans and we were the most dog friendly accommodation a couple of years ago, as voted by the Kennel Club. Ozy the Labrador More

The Old Cider House is great. Ian, Lynne and Ozy, the blogging labrador, are very welcoming. We were on an all in package and the food and drink were excellent. Ian is a brewer and it is a treat to go there and sample his latest brew. The OCH is very dog friendly which is a bonus given the price... More

Our stay with Lynne and Ian could not have been more perfect. The Old Cider House is situated in a quite street in beautiful Nether Stowey. Our room was spacious and very comfy, including treats for our Dog as well as for us (biscuits for both, coffee, tea and Sherry for us). We had dinner 2 times and the food... More

What a lovely review and what lovely people. Really enjoyed having these guests and their dog Fado. The beer is just finishing fermenting and should be ready for the pub at the end of the month. Hope to see you again soon. Ian & Lynne (and Ozy). More

We were given a night away for a birthday present and chose to stay at The Old Cider House as it wasn't too far from our home and had good reviews-we were not disappointed. We did a lovely walk, in a gale but no rain, around Lilstock, taking in the 2 churches and the beach. (Download the walk from Nether... More

We had originally booked the place before, and despite the hosts warning us that bookings weren't changeable we had a minor family emergency and couldn't go that weekend. After a bit of wrangling with them, they eventually changed their minds and let us change the date, so thanks very much for that, although not sure why they took such a... More

Thank you for taking the trouble to write a review and we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. Just in case guests take your comment about traffic the wrong way, Nether Stowey is a village bypassed by the main road and is peaceful with only minimal local traffic. We're very glad that you enjoyed the breakfast and you are... More

Went on a weekend beer brewing course at this delightful, excellent value B&B. Highly recommended even if you are not a beer 'nerd'. Ian and Lynne are superb, natural hosts. Je t'adore labrador Ozzie. Surrounding area has lots of attractions.

We spent four night at The Old Cider House with our two dogs and had a really lovely time. We had a lovely warm welcome on a dark october ev. Our room was spacious, with plenty of room for the 4 of us. We had the ground floor room which gave us easy access to the outside rear carpark and... More

It 's always nice when guests say appreciative things after their stay particularly about our food. We try to source as much of our produce locally with bacon & sausages from our local butcher here in Nether Stowey, fresh new laid eggs from our chickens and vegetables from the garden. More
