Amazing little place, walkable distance from Yate and Chipping sodbury, but out of the way enough to relax. Food is what you expect. Nice beer on tap, Handsome, Hot and friendly staff. Lovely little garden, decent breakfast Not a bad word to say about the room, delightful space for our family. Did I mention the beautiful staff?

My wife and I stayed here for three nights.I read somewhere that the Queen stopped here in 1961! I thought if it was good enough for her then it is good enough for us!! I cannot speak too highly of the hotel,or the staff. The menu is very varied and well priced. There is a bus stop outside of the hotel... More

We were hiking the Cotswold Way and this hotel was about a mile from the path. Big enough room, helpful staff, especially the front desk staff person, Carolyn, who was great in helping us track down our bags. Restaurant was only ok, but very busy with events and since therearen't many other places nearby to eat.

Popped in on a Saturday early evening, we hadn't booked, there was a wedding on & restaurant was fully booked. Only 2/3 staff serving so very busy, staff were mostly fine except for one young lady who perhaps not their best asset! They'd run out of one of the starters on specials board, but were too busy to let anyone... More

Stopped for dinner on way to Oxford. Looked lovely and friendly staff and well kept beer. I had ultimate burger, ultimately rubbish prob the worst pub meal I have ever had. The bun came out black, seriously, where it was over toasted and was like charcoal on one edge and the 2 burgers were drier than a sunburnt Ryvita, I thought... More

Stayed Friday night in a group of 11 cycling to the West Country. From the first enquiry about facilities for bike storage the staff were very helpful and pleasant. Great value food and drink and comfortable rooms. If you have a choice though ask not to be in the rooms on the road side of the hotel - its quite... More

Stayed at this hotel last Tuesday for the one night. We booked a superior room overlooking the road, there was some traffic noise but not too bad, the room was lovely, very compact bathroom but clean and ok. When we booked we did not realise that the second Tuesday every month the restaurant is totally booked out to the harley... More

Thank you for your great review. It can get very busy on a Tuesday night with or without the large bookings so it's always best to book however, when we have the occasional sunny spells - our seating outside is double that of the inside which does help. Thanks again. George, Colette and the team More

Nice location, very pleasant food and beer, all served by local staff. Rooms are OK, but preferable to staying in some crappy chain. Very convenient for M4, Bristol or Bath. I stay in a lot of hotels, and very rarely write reviews, but this place is very nice.

Stayed for 4 nights courtesy of Tesco hotel vouchers. Had spoken to staff prior to the visit to arrange a specific room which was accommodated with no problem - thanks Beth. Arrived and got our allocated room. However just as we were unpacking both my wife and I could hear the sound of running water - which it was from... More

Thanks for your fantastic comments and the name mentions. The team are pleased to be in the limelight. Further to your tips - room 19 is a single however, other rooms overlooking the rear courtyard are room 21 (standard double) and rooms 18 and 12 (both superiors). George, Colette an the team. More
