Stayed here for 1 night on a bank holiday weekend so was expecting it to be busy, but we had to wait 2 hours for our main courses which is just too long. The food was actually all very good (we had mussels, fish and chips, and smoked salmon linguine), so maybe on a quieter evening I would have been... More

A group of 13 of us arrived at The Runswick Bay Hotel on the recommendation of the local campsite owner. We had pitched our tents in the rain and we were cold, wet and hungry. On first appearance the Runswick Bay Hotel did not look very appealing but we learnt the 'do not judge a book by its cover' lesson... More

Stayed for two nights with my husband and mother in law. Car park an added bonus. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfasts were delicious (black pudding was amazing!) and the staff very pleasant. Will certainly be back again next year.

I stayed here for one night whilst walking the Cleveland Way (in the family room). The room was ok but furniture a bit shabby and past it's best, the bathroom definitely needed decorating and the bunk beds were quite rickety. Towels and sheets all nice and clean though. We booked a table in the restaurant for our evening meal as... More

Didn't actually stay at the hotel only ate there on a couple of occasions - the meals are expensive and not good value for money. First meal Steak and Ale Pie £10.95 each was very nice but small portions - the second meal was fish and chips £10.95 and Rib eye steak £15.95 overall not very good - fish and... More

I can highly recommend the food in Runswick hotel we had a fabulous meal before going to Runswick bay, which has tiny narrow streets & a beautiful sandy beach for children, it's a very steep climb back up though

We popped into the 'Runswick Bay Hotel' after a morning playing on the beach. After the walk back up the steep hill from the beach, we were happy to have a bit of time to spare before our bus arrived. Upon entering the bar, we were made to feel very welcome. The staff were veryvfriendly and attentive. We all loved... More

Undergoing a lot of refurb. Ignore the outside. The interior is lovely. I had a very large clean and comfortable room. Water was instantly nice and hot after long walks or days out fossil hunting. Enormous portions for breakfast and vege options available. Lovely lunch and evening menu. Staff welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Great location. In the Good Beer... More

Have eaten here many times but this was a first stay. I am assuming that upgrading is in progress because the hallway was still being worked on however the room was fine, clean and nice and simply decorated, although the "shabby chic" furniture left little walking space in places. This might have been because I had expressed a wish for... More

My family and I plus our Yorkshire Terrier visited the Runswick Bay Hotel for lunch after enjoying a short walk in the area. The outside appearance of the hotel is very unappealing and in need of renovation and redecorating, however we decided to give it a try as it is dog friendly!! I was immediately impressed by the local real... More
