Review of Restaurant only. Formerly famed for generous portions of tasty meals and delicious desserts; now sells overpriced pub grub. Adequate, no longer fantastic.

Firstly No heating turned on until the evening cold shower room and bed room not a warm friendly welcome either. Basil sat behind bar talking to locals and laughing etc ,But guests ignored even when trying to attract his attention. Just had a lovely weekend break at the runswick bay hotel and would like to thank the hosts for a great few days. The bubbly was very nice thank you Robbie and Kelly, Would like to think we could return in the near future. You keep a good pint of guiness mate. Thanks again Marjorie & Terry.

We have just had a fabulous two days at The Runswick Bay Hotel. The room was spotlessly clean and the food was delicious, both at breakfast and in the bar, I can recommend the Whitby Scampi!!l A bonus was the free wifi in our room which was great! We called for for a family meal and the children had "pizza"they were more like door mats and the adult food not much better.such a pity but strange how some people are easily satisfied.Anyway each to his own.

We stayed at the Runswick Bay Hotel for the second year in a row as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel last year. Kelly & Robbie are great hosts, the area is a walkers dream. We will be returning for a third year.

The staff where very helpful and the service was great. Breakfast 5 star.. Landlord though seems to have trained at the Fawlty Towers School of Management....... Extremley Rude man..Though this didnt dampen our stay and would stay again if the Landlord had retrianed in his People Skills....
