We visited this hotel last August on recommendation from a French friend. It was so lovely that we returned this July. Although quite small the hotel is very chic with a swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam rooms etc and one can book treatments if required. The gardens go down to a little river and one can take aperitifs etc on the... More

My wife and I stayed here as part of our Loire Gastronomic Cycling Holiday. Our room was generous in size, well appointed and had been renovated recently. After four weeks on the road, it was good to have a larger room that provided some extra space. Our stay was very peaceful. We were able to secure our bicycles in a... More

We booked 4 nights as part of a longer trip through France. LIke other reviewers we found a somewhat underwhelming welcome. Madame seems to be the only one running the show, and is obviously uncomfortable playing host. On arrival we were shown the spa and pool, before the room, which perhaps should have been a warning, where the priorities lie.... More

The pictures are very deceiving. It looks like this hotel has done a renovation on 6 rooms but their other rooms are old and it's furniture is garage sale quality. We had reserved 2 rooms for 2 nights months in advance through price line. I had called the hotel twice to make sure everything is ok and told them it is... More

We went on a touring holiday to France, Switzerland and Italy and choose six 3, 4 and 5 star hotels staying between 2 and 5 nights at each hotel and this hotel was the most disappointing by far. On the plus side the hotel has obviously had a considerable amount of money on it and the new part is very... More

On a bicycle trip with headwater - we were told to arrive after 4pm! Why? Owner day off! Secondly, they don't do dinner Mondays...thank god a taxi ride and a great meal in another establishment . Thirdly, yes there is newly renovated areas but we got the old rooms ... Who's ripping us hotel owner or tour operator? Fourthly after... More

Had a great room, the food was perfect and the staff very friendly, the restaurant is nice and bright and opens onto the garden, had a nice moment spent being pampered by a very helpful young lady in the spa, would love to go back again, soon.

Relais du Silence hotels are noted for their peace and quiet. This place is no exception. With this establishment however, the reviews of the hotel and restaurant CANNOT be combined. As all reviews have said, it has been very well renovated recently, in a modern style, with the de rigeur swimming pool. When we visited it was not very well... More

After arriving on our bikes, we could not believe our luck. What a gem. Recently modernised the owners have done a great job. As an owner of 5 star hotels , I can truly say this is a great property. The spa was just what the doctor ordered after cycling in 30c plus all day. Then the meal just superb.... More

We stayed for two days on a cycling holiday as a group of eight. I had been concerned by some of the earlier reviews. Pleasingly this was ill founded. Our stay was excellent. Madame was hospitable, charming and very knowledgeable. The food in the restaurant was first class. The rooms in the new upgraded portion of the hotel (luxe and... More
